Mai did get a reservation from Asumi, but was forced to cancel it because she got sick. Or was it Asumi that got sick? I'm more sure that Mai was the one that got sick, but I'm nevertheless not completely sure.

Let me guess. Asumi is going to say that she has "somewhere to be" and Nao is going to get worried, assuming its a boyfriend. Then she's gonna follow Asumi and end up seeing her with a sex worker and going into a love hotel together and either she'll realize she's with a prostitute or she'll think that Asumi has a girlfriend.

No brothels, no prostitutes, no sex, just pure and wholesome fun with two girls who start living together, go through lots of awkward doki-doki moments, and little by little start having feelings for each other.

But of course the last page gets the story back on track.

Is the author enough of a madwoman to make Asumi and Nanao have sex? It might be a line Asumi doesn't want to cross since Nanao isn't a prostitute, but I feel like she'll be faced with having to consider it since I can't think of what Nanao's purpose in the story could be otherwise.

Nanao starting to have feelings for Asumi is clear as day.
Asumi... I have doubts.
She has lines like «Seeing you eat happily makes me want to cook for you every day!» or «I wish I could run my fingers through her hair forever!» that sound like something a girl who's falling in love would say. At the same time she was ok with leaving after a week and didn't try to get Nanao to let her stay, and she already had a whore booked for that night!

Asumi is real QUICK with that "treat yourself" mentality.

Yeah, kinda like a detour; probably unplanned originally? "We want more volumes of this!", that sorta thing. And then we don't get a good end for the actual "plot" because it gets axed somewhere along the way ... ^^
