THIS could perfectly have been the final chapter, you know

I'm surprised the author (...) also got attached to the yuri.

I'm not

Well at this point the girlfriend should come over and take pictures herself, or maybe even just join in to get even better reference material lol

Riskiest, most badass intervention ever. That, or a dumbass. My theory is that she is an ancestor of Justy Ueki Tylor.

Some... years of dealing with insects myself make me hope that bucket is soapy water. My name may be associated with healing and protection, yeah, but quoting Alfred Pennywise, "sometimes one can be allowed a little pang of satisfaction".

CALLED IT!!!

W-why are the two of them acting as the "...and then they were both tops" meme?

topping from the bottom

Ah, well. Pass me the popcorn.

Too many people saying "drugs depicted unrealistically". Kids, there's a reason that EVERY psychoactive med has a "stop treatment of you develop any self-harm idea" warning - and is that EVERY psychoactive substance, be it meds or drugs, has a non-zero chance of triggering depressive or obsessive ideas if you have the wrong genetics. Even more hilarious - some don't cause that result themselves but can act as known triggers for transtorns that DO have that effect, too. Getting that result from ANY drug is NOT unrealistic - just (fortunately) unlikely from most.
(Yes, that includes weed. Had to take an ex GF to (and fortunately from) the ward after a suicide attempt because of specifically weed. She was one of the unlucky ones. Any "b-but weed doesn't cause that" uninformed comment will be meet with derision.)

also, SpencerSDH, the sakura venom is also treated here as a plot device for an obvious toxic relationship. Which is a Stormtrooper moment here, not for you, but for many who miss the plot harder than if they wore white plastic armor. Some kids here may complain about having taken drugs and not sen that very effects, but oh boy have I seen how toxic relationships are depicted here perfectly. I wish you guys to NEVER have experienced those first-hands, folks. Sincerely.
And THAT is what this oneshot is about. Not the drugs.

I shall not answer any answer to this post.

chapter 3 page 6: Would have been funny if she had been raised in Spain instead of Italy - they have about as big of paper-folding tradition as Japan does

Ah, the morons that ALWAYS find the EXACT words to say just because they're too much of a moron to know that they are expected to say something else...

You actually cannot force someone to seek help. You cannot call the professionals to take the person to the ward (or sectioned) unless the person harming herself or planing to harm others.

"Take to the ward".
Getting help is no longer taking one to straightjackets. We're in the XXI century, not the XIX. You have the "I" on the wrong side of the second "X". Which belief is one of the reasons that most hurt the efforts to give help to those who need it. Instead of hamfisted attempts to force one to get help,

I've found that plainly stating to the one in need of help that those who think that way,s if we we're in the XIX century, are just plain wrong, that "just like physical health goes from a headache to brain cancer, and believing everyone who goes to the doc is a terminal patient beyond salvation, mental health is NOT just 'being crazy'", and "you know that better than the ones who think so, don't you?". WIth that argument (or similar ones) I've actually managed to get several of the people of my bitter experience to seek help. Severe depressions. Plural. One case of schizophrenia. Teenagers (plural) whose parents refused to beliee ADHD or ASD were real things... Others, I've had no success. But reallt do you think I should have not tried to give help to he ones that TOOK the help, just because others didn't?

And of the ones nobody (including me) tried, at least one commited suicide. Having a failure to get a loved one to seek help may or may not weight on one's conscience: having a death due to failue to even TRY to help, fuck me, but it does.

This shall be my last comment in this regard. Sorry, but no words ever shall beable to convince me that I sould not have tried. Please DO try if you find that it needs trying.

OMG Kaede is insane, literally.

Yep. I wonder, do we have a tag for that?

One of the few cases where the throuple endng is the only realistic option. I mean, just look at those two idiot's relationship.

Nothing else needs to be said other than Kaede needs professional fucking help. My. fucking. god.

I may NOT be the actual Erana of QFG fame, the one leaving gardens of peace behind her to tend the physical and mental health of the heroes, but I'll be damned if I don't follow up on our post with the obvious (but often unstated) real life lesson:
Everyboy, from bitter experience. If you, or a loved one, need professional help, GET THAT HELP.

I profusely apologize for the double post, but I want to keep this separated from the previous "joke" post:

Certainly comphet has been a major issue throughout this story,

I've made no secret that I like my yuri like I like my Dwarven Fortress FUN: hard-won against difficulty. Winning against the heteronormative character should be something to cheer for, if anything. God knows it is often not the case IRL.
Not trying to convince anyone, just stating the point.

OK, on re-reading, show of hands: how many of you did scream in desperation at your screen "GET THE BLOODY HINT, YOU MORON!!!" at the last page of chapter 18? Because I just did it again.

Regarding the very first chapter of this one... their doubts about what is and isn't marriage..
allow me to quote no other than Eric W. Schwartz.

Mildy curious as to what happened with Tomohiko

He fled from the wedding to join the Shinsengumen in Hakuoki. Plainly.

I'd wish to add, if making more than one post isn't stepping out of line, two tag suggestions - CUSTOM tags, and the works that inpired them.

Insane amounts of title (which was created for I Became a Slave in Another World (pien) and to make matters worse, My Master is a Black-Hearted Elf Queen! (But She’s Super Hot. (note: v. impt.)) I’m Pretty Useless, So I’m Getting Barked At Left, Right, and Centre, but the ORC I’m rooming with is full of good vibes, and the ELF in the Village is pretty cute too. So on the whole, I have to say that I'm actually quite enjoying myself here.)

Insane amounts of scanlators (whih was created for It's Probably Love(?) which featured twenty-three (23) scanlator tags)

I would add other legendary custom tags like Insane amounts of hand-holding or Lots of ruffling, if I were actually positive of which work they were made for. If anyone knows it, feel free to.

Still going strong

Let me tell you, the story of those two reminds me of a personal experience of mine. The experience of casually, not throuh deliberaty gossiping, learning of two stranger's private life; of finding their situation to be cute; of also casually learning years later than they are still together; and of feeling a small pang of joy in it (you know, the whole Bhudist concept of Mudita, or "taking joy in other's happines", thing.

Around two decades ago, a New Year morning, walking on my way home (and yes, that was right next door from my city's quite famous LGTB district. ), I saw two girls of which I couldn't help to notice that all their clothing, attitude, smiles and body language (let alone handholding) screamed "this could be a romantic comedy movie's 'happy ending - she confessed on New Year and got a yes' scene". Of which, at the time I only tought "yep, that's cute", and thougt nothing more of it - beside the aforementioned "this looks like a movie - must be the New Year effect" thing. Yet I've been casually catching glimpses of those two girls (now, considerably older, too) basically every other New Year for two decades, always together, always smiling, always handolding. Movie, sequels, whole franchise :-) Of course each time I see them I can't help to think for a second "good for them!" Why not? Even if I don't even know them.

I'm not interested in Husky and Medley's private life.I'm not even curious about them. I don't keep tabs, I won't try to read their tweets (or whatever the fuck you call them now), I'm not invested in THEM even if I've just suggested this classic comic for featured chapters. But finding that they are still together, decades later, like the two movie-like girls of so many new years above... yep. Mudita moment, right here.

Hate to be the post that breaks the 888 comments, but we REALLY need the mangaka to start answering at least SOME question before piling even more ones onto us. This is not a "the mangaka is not doing a good job" post, it's a "really this is awesome yet it's starting to be a wee bit overwhelming" post.

I strongly apologize for the double post, but I don't want to mix this answer about "the actual story" with the previous one about "keeping the characters alive post-story".

Like most fourth-wall-break stories, this was a lot of fun but made no goddamn sense even on its own terms. The k-drama W was a lot like these last few chapters, for instance. I do recommend that show, but you really have to turn off your brain.

Hope this doesn't spoil it for anyone, but the ending just begs for a dark reading. Notice how, as soon as the author is "safe", Tsukino suddenly reverses something she's insisted on the whole time? And then the final strip is a happier version of one that Hinami "herself" drew? Looks to me like the in-comic author desperately trying to give Hinami a happy ending so she'll leave him alone -- and outright sacrificing Tsukino's free will to do it.

Don't think so. Remember that Tsukino reversed on being straight before the author was able to write her doing that reversal. And remember how she HAD previously given actualconsideration of acepting Hinami's propositions. I mentioned it before to be a case of "if it's you it's OK", but the line I just wrote can also work if we move the word "before" to the end it is also a case of Tsukino being OK with Hinami before the end. She did that on her own free will. Among other things, because at the point she did it, there was nobody with the power to make her do anything against her own will; the author was still incapacitated, and Hinami has no power over her outside of their manga world.
