OT3 or bust!

Lapis getting a proper rival for Natori will just push her to accept that she can't live with "letting go" of Natori. If I were to cope hard, I would suggest Diana realizes this on some level. If she does, then from her perspective either Lapis proves to be a person who doesn't deserve Natori's affection, or Diana becoming the "villain" who's out to get her girl causes Lapis to get over her hangups and reciprocate Natori's love. Either way, Natori gets a girl who loves her, which is a win for Diana. But yeah, that's mostly cope because Diana is probably just acting selfish now that she has some hope she can get her girl.

Of course this is all moot because Natori will NOT settle for any less than BOTH her girls! They WILL have their happily-ever-after OT3!!!

I agree that Natori wouldn't want to break either of their hearts, although she still kinda is playing dumb about recognizing Diana's feelings so there's a risk Natori will hurt her without realizing it. Be bold, Diana!!

For sure. I expect lots of angst, but there are a lot of signs this will end up OT3. Here's hoping!

Don't think we're in the kind of set-up where a poly-ending is possible.

What an ass wish. If she gave a single fuck about Natalie she would know that Natalie doesn't want to leave Lapis.

Agreed. Her wish is entirely one-sided and fails to take into account Natalie's own feelings. Also, this "grant any one wish" thing reeks of unrealistic worldbuilding. Life doesn't work like that, even when magic is involved.

This story (so far) can be hilariously summed up as a series of arcs where: Diana gets thirsty and takes the early lead in the shipping war by being a slightly yandere cinnamon roll, Natori accidentally creates a plot out of ignorance, Lapis gets thirsty too but she thugs it out and disappears from the plot for while to do background shit only to pop up at the end and save the day while getting the biggest W in said shipping war, and then we wrap the arc with Natori feeling the immense pleasure of "job well done".

Repeat but add more angst next arc.
Honestly tho, I love it. Another banger in the Villainess Yuri stories. Please end with OT3, I want all my girls to be happy.

Plot moving along on two fronts. Getting closer to Lapis' past, and another confrontation between her and Diana.

Lapis-Aurora Switcheroo Theory is blowing my mind

I really like the Imouto-Lapis Switcheroo theory.

I don't. When I saw that line from Rubeus I was like ugh, are doing this haha

But also if it's true it just adds like a whole other psychological dimension to her suffering. Like imagine having to become someone else, to cease to have your own identity. That's gotta just like, lock in that trauma, you can't process watching your sister get murdered and heal a bit if you have to walk around pretending to be her. If at any point in the roleplay you ask yourself "what would the real lapis do?" when trying to figure out how to act, "take revenge on the people who killed me" is a nonsensical but real thought that comes out of that scenario. Mixes with the grief real nice, chase closure by making your sister kill the people who killed her.

May I be wrong to my own satisfaction, may all of that have been a wild red goosering chase

Just to try and pump the brakes on this before it carries off too far, I don't think this is very accurate. It can be tough to remember previous key events when you catch each update as they publish, but just last chapter we saw that Diana's first instinct was to completely give up Natori to Lapis for this exact reason--considering her feelings. But after that exchange, she has - honestly, rather logically and rightfully as far as the current State of Things is concerned - determined that that would just be a crushing, one-sided and scarily possibly abusive relationship.

So I think it is a bit contrived to say the wish isn't "considering Natori's feelings", since as far as Diana is concerned, this is the best thing for exactly that. And maybe she's just forcing Lapis into action to call her bluff. She's definitely a bit of a bull about these things lmao.

That being said,

Also, this "grant any one wish" thing reeks of unrealistic worldbuilding. Life doesn't work like that, even when magic is involved.

Yeah. lol. I can't disagree here. I sighed and rolled my eyes. But, well, we can write it off. Not every work of fiction is good at interconnecting every detail.

Don't think we're in the kind of set-up where a poly-ending is possible.

There are no love triangle settings where a poly-ending isn't possible, just writers who are too feeble-minded to push it.

I, too, went "oh no" at "grant any one wish".

They fight, Lapis realizes how much she needs Natalie, so she won. Diana either just want to Lapis to affirm her feelings towards Natalie or ... Diana will turn into the dark side.

It really reads to me that Diana declared that so boldly to rile Lapis up more than anything else. I don't know what she gets out of it, and in truth, I'd prefer them to be on the same team because why the fuck not? I also feel like this is the most contractually obligated sports arc and tournament arc intertwined and I'm very amused by that thought.

Other than that I really do want to dive deeper into Lapis' inner world, so I'm very much looking forward to that. I'm impressed by how well it comes across that she's very traumatized strictly through the art.

Regarding the "one wish" thing, to play devil's advocate, this is supposed to be a game and that kind of convenient plot device are dime a dozen. It will be interesting to see how that will translate with actual characters and not just npcs following a script.

I'm still not convinced about the Lapis is Aurora theory. It seems too contrived for my liking, but I'm convinced that Nekotarou is good enough of a writer to pull it off if that is where the story is heading. The OT3 or Poly route on the other hand is something that I'm certain it has zero chance of happening, everything is building up to the Lapis and Natori endgame.

Yeah, I think I agree with the OT3 not really being set up in this one... even though I'd really like to see it...

It's not impossible, but it'd definitively (positively) surprise me

By this point... this. I want a poly ending... but I'm no longer holding my breath for it. It'd be my prefered ending, but it's becoming ever less likely.

Ya'll are overthinking this shit way too hard. It's villainess isekai gacha slop world building. Magical student council granting one wish is absolutely par for the course for this type of story. Have you seen the type of stuff even non-magical student councils do in manga lmao. The "world building" is just an excuse for over the top love triangle yuri drama which I'm absolutely loving.

The real problem with the wish is that it's granted to the team, so Diana ostensibly has to convince her team to go along with her personal wish and it's not like she's friends with anyone so what would they care lol
