Who did Lapis originally want to kill, anyways? Like do you really need a full blown genocide instead of a handful of pokey pokies?
As of now it's framed as "killing all the commoners", so technically genocide (ethnic groups/nation) is a misnomer. Classicide (social class) would be more accurate.
That said we don't know yet what exactly drove her to that point, only lil bits and pieces that could just as likely be clues or misdirections
Umm...You people do know that Lapis had a adopted sister that could see the future and died to the [ANTI-NOBLE] fraction right, it was shown and explain in the past chapters???? MC did not know about Lapis adopted older sister having future sight and only knew that Lapis' sister died (But not the reason for Lapis' sister's death)....I guess some people just forgot maybe? :)
It kind of fked up that the [ANTI-NOBLE(Which includes the lesser lower rank nobles meaning they are not Anti-noble to rich people helping them lol)] fraction tried to kill Lapis and her adopted sister died protecting her but eh...Lapis was from a pretty much super high ranking family...Meaning killing her father or her (Future heir) would be a big blow to any possible strong future support to the KING/Royalty and the the higher rank nobles...Lapis as a kid was a easier target was my guess why they aimed for her instead of trying to target the father.
I pretty sure her motivation is very clear from what we can see from her backstory....XD
['Revenge'] for her adopted sister and killing "Everyone" in the [Anti-noble] fraction...If she has to kill lots of innocent people to kill every single person that could have a hand or a tiny bit of responsibility for her little sister's death...There would be no hesitation lol.
From my point of view and understanding of her character, Lapis would feel a tiny bit bad for killing any innocent people in the [Anti-noble (Any misguided person wanting change for the poor innocent people of society)] or innocent bystander that isn't even part of [Anti-noble] but that is a sacrifice she is willing to take.
Sure the assassin that tried to killed Lapis is dead...But what about all the people involved and ordered the attempted assassination???
Like...Am I just crazy or am I seeing a different version of this series then everyone??? Lapis motive and goals seems pretty clear to me. Even her minor prejudice against commoners is understandable considering witnessing her sister's death at the hands of the so-called 'Commoners'....Or my understanding of Lapis character is 99.99% total wrong and she is just trolling and fooling everyone with her FAKE backstory about having a adopted commoner sister XD
[This chapter(17)]
This chapter (17) shows that Diana was willing to give up pursuing MC for love if Lapis shows she cares for the MC and that the MC is number 1 to Lapis but Lapis' hesitation made Diana frustrated since she was ready to give up on the romance (IF Lapis was serious about MC) and saw Lapis hesitating which shook Diana up since she was ready to give on the MC.
Lapis though knows [She had to let go of MC's hand]...She will never give up on her 'revenge' and how her revenge could put MC in danger just from association....The real question to me honestly is...is this going to up end as a poly 3-way ending or just between Lapis & MC ending...the other option is the [BAD END] which I don't even want to considered happening lol...
The French revolution had a number of lesser noble supporters, and so did the Bolshevik revolution. Some of them even survived when the revolution radicalized and turned against many of its own founders and early supporters, as revolutions are wont to do.
So yes, people can, have, and will support revolutions likely to result in their own execution. They think they'll be exceptions, and sometimes that assumption is even true.
