Close enough. Touko had some additional issues on top of this that made her turn out the way she did, but the basic character is certainly similar.

Translator says "the original text is gendered, and specifically refers to a wife, yes."

The question wasn't about the "wife" part but rather about the "bad guy" part.

But yes, I was even initially going to comment on this customer myself, but in the end decided not to since no one else had brought it up and because of how out of place an openly lesbian grandma seemed considering the story so far. Certainly looks like a woman indeed, though...
