Are you guys really surprised that Nakano has no shame? My reaction was more like: "ohh, figures"

On a general level, I've pretty much realized that with this author's works the prime modus operandi is turn off brain enjoy bob and vagene. Like, Younger Senpai was not a literary masterpiece to say the least, you know.

i did enjoy that Younger Senpai didnt go with the cliches all the commenters wanted it to go with

as for Nakano it really is pretty straightforward, she is shameless, a bad influence, and helpfull. The vibes is get from Dynasty comments these days is that a lot of people crave "Healthy Environments" for their sexy stuff, But a lot of these writers dont care about having an inherintly healthy environment as long as the characters dont experiance anything unpleasant.

An example is when one character is being pushy about wanting to do it and another is like "im not in the mood atm" and the first character keeps on pushing until they are doing it and the second character ultimately goes "ahh fuck it, i like it". Some commenters calls that unconcencual and/or a bad way to adress concent even though that is a realistic variant of concent, go see "cutie beast" for a proper example of rape through lack of concent.

a lot of focus on how bad things could be rather than how bad it is.
Feel free to puplicly execute me now.

I do think you're right that in general there is a push for more consensual stuff regardless of context, but I also think context matters. In a serious story questionable actions are taken seriously. When it has a more comedic vibe questionable actions feel more normalized which weirds me out.

Fair enough

I feel the complete opposite. When the story doesn't take itself seriously, why should I take it seriously? The comedic slant makes the questionable actions, in the context of this story with these characters, not something negative or harmful. Else, the author would have focused more on the harm these actions are causing. Since harm is not shown, I assume that no harm is done. In the end, this story is fictional. That's not saying that the questionable actions are good, just that since the actions are questionable context is required and this story already provides this context.

With respect to normalizing behaviors, I honestly can't see how comedic vibes normalize what's happening when it's fiction. But then again, some people can't understand the difference between fiction and reality so... For those who don't understand: hentai logic =/= real world logic.

I think my argument stems from a knowledge of TV trends over the years. Drama always seems heightened. If something dramatic and serious happens, that's contextualized in the show rather than applied to individuals. But comedy can really change the minds of viewers. Everyone's laughing and it's all ok, so it sets the mood of the audience to think the actions are also okay.

I wouldn't say it applies to everyone, but we're not talking about people with a developed sense of what consent means. We're talking about an average teenager that might come across this.

While it's good to examine the art we consume, I don't think "might this have a negative impact on a random teenager who reads it?" is a very helpful question to ask. It's not something we can ever possibly know unless you pay for a scientific study, and it doesn't really matter anyway. A single manga is not going to have an appreciable impact on societal views of women and sexual coercion. To put it another way, consequentialism isn't going to help you here; if you want to morally critique the manga you need to critique the manga in itself, not assert that it might have negative consequences on hypothetical teenagers.

Can't wait to find if the reporter is a top or bottom. But I hope that she's a top.

Did you know that in Japan, it's mandatory for phones to have the fake "shutter sound" (and it's not possible to disable it), because of some law that was passed to curb the underskirt picture perverts?

It's obviously useless for the real/determined ones and definitely annoying, but it's the law, so it stays like that.

A chapter where Miyako isn't fucked silly by some random woman.

How novel.

I feel like this story is teaching some bad moral decisions. "Money is made to be spent"?! Being frugal is a good thing! Gosh, if you can't trust your sleezy yuri porn to teach good morals, what CAN you trust

Yep still hate Nakano and it looks like she's most likely going to get the next banging in the next chapter since Miyako can't seem to say no to her.

yeah I think that the gal should've added a couple of financial safety nets for when she's not in the midst of a lesbian prostitution ring- rich chick should go through some of what she's experienced so she's not so fuckin loose with her own moolah

I know Nakano might not be the most popular one around here, but I'm looking forward to these two.

That was a pretty fun chapter. Of course Nakano is doing someone at every opportunity she has lol. I wonder how many unique girls we will see by the end of this.

MC dying at every expensive item was pretty funny. I wonder how long Nakano can hold herself back and keep her word on this trip as the investigator is there.

Have to say everytime I read a chapter I am stunned at how good the art looks. I think the author draws everything extremely well and makes every character stand out and I love the variety of faces. Find it even funnier they use that talent for ero manga lmao.

On the whole spending money point. In real life yeah Nakano would be an idiot and it would be way better to save that money for the future like buying a house or car long term for after she finishes collage.

I love the one coercing you into selling your body in order to finance your life coming with the brilliant suggestion of, instead of using that money to actually finance your life, spend it all on reckless, pointless purchases so that she'll soon be broke again and having to continue selling her body... and then even selling pantyshots of her online. It's genius, really. A brilliant business strategy

Shocking similar to how real pimps operate honestly.

Reminder of the original context: https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/i_wont_sleep_with_you_for_free_ch01#5

Annual tuition $8350 (!), monthly rent $160 (!) after split with her sister, daily lunch $2.

Monthly expenses $895, assuming 5x/week lectures, and ignoring utilities or non-lunch meals.

Maybe $1135 with those.

(I'm using the average of 100 yen to the dollar, not the current 140 exchange rate.)

OTOH she is kind of neurotic, worrying about being frugal about using the college's water: https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/i_wont_sleep_with_you_for_free_ch01#6

(Japan is not a water-scarce country.)

So at $300 per 'date', one client a week would just cover her existing expenses.

IRL she'd get Miyako hooked on crystal meth.

I feel like that's got to be intentional, right? The mangaka is steadily making Nakano more and more scummy with each chapter. Makes me think this manga may end up being more than just a cheap excuse for porn not that there's anything wrong with that.
