The blurb on the color page boasts that this is the long-awaited manga version of a controversial yuri romcom, so the odds are pretty high that Kano gets the girl.

If this opener feels strange (beyond the subject matter), I guess it's because the transition from light novel to manga was handled less gracefully, and an assertive (using the term generously) lead being the narrator.
