And this is the point where this story (story's world building?) doesn't make any sense anymore. Couldn't Hachi stick to the doujins where Mel and her kind were similar (or the same) to the one from Legally Married Yuri Couple Book (and Isn't The Moon Beautiful)? Ehhh...
sighs i knew i should have downloaded this
btw this whole incident makes me wonder if any other yuri authors featured on here know about this site
Probably not. If they did, they all would requested removing their work from site.
I wonder about that. Honestly, I would be flattered if someone in Japan translated my work to Japanese, as long as they were still crediting me for the original.
So would I... if they asked permission to do so first. If someone I know nothing about did it and I only found out via an online search or some third party telling me that my work is being posted elsewhere without my knowledge, I'd be inclined to consider that pretty rude at minimum.
Not a fan of this series, but watched the anime because yuri is yuri. And yuri is always better than het nonesense. The background art is gorgeous, but their faces are kinda strange. Maybe it’s the giant eyes, small nose and pointy chin idk
That is something I also wondered about. I've read several things tagged "Yuri" on this site that had very slow starts with several chapters of not even implied romance. What makes this one different? I guess nobody even knows anymore.
For an extreme example, Yuru Yuri doesn't have a start yet gets a Yuri tag. Most of it isn't even subtext...
It's tagged Yuri because it's from Yuri Hime. But some yuri series or one-shots from that magazine should be tagged subtext. Or even shouldn't have any of that, like this one.
Only Yuri Hime survived. Probably thanks to maga popular Yuru Yuri.
There is also a new independent yuri magazine Galette. Launched last year.
I doubt Yuru Yuri is the only reason. In fact, Yuru Yuri entered in an undefined hiatus.
Yuri Hime is pretty popular nowadays, more than it ever was. They're trying to appeal to all kinds of yuri. Comedy, romance, fantasy, drama, action, etc.
Correction: survived at the time when Tsubomi and Hirari went down, so it was a few years ago. Of course it's only my speculation, but:
1: based only on rankings, number of copies sold, number of followers on Namori's twitter, Three seasons of tv anime, two OVAs and the third in the making. Nothing in Yuri Hime to this day could ever get close to that. Even Citrus is faaaaaaaar behind it.
2: Also, Yuri Hime since 2015 (the first japanese manga magazine in chinese) is aviable in chinese, which is a huge boost for them.
3: Oh, I almost forget about the former editor of Yuri Hime. As much as I hated that guy, his stubbornness and influence on Ichjinisha helped them survive.
But yeah, this year's Yuri Hime is much more interesting (thank you Pine!) than before. Maybe I will start buying this magazine again. This would be my third time :)
