Ohh it's here! This is an interesting one. I appreciate the research the mangaka is putting in, down to getting the "Early New High German" script on the "no shoes" sign p accurate~ Looking forward to more

Interesting over all, specially the twist on the Isekai formula, as we aren't looking from the modern Japanese's perspective, but from the other way around.

Yay for historical isekai, and spreading the word that medieval people were not all mud covered fools wallowing in their own shit.

An article about it.

So yeah, Medieval people loved to bath.

The black plague changed a lot of things.

I agree, it doesn't follow the typical generic Japanese perspectives, which makes it seem promising.

Edit: I like how there are a few pages at the end of this chapter that show educational insights on how they bathed. I look forward to this series if it includes similar pages in every chapter. :)

Page 19's top panel is a very interesting choice of framing. I thought it a cheeky one-off till page 25 onward. Not sure what the purpose is but I don't necessarily mind I guess.

More seriously, I like the twist on the dynamic and presentation. Looking forward to seeing this one develop.

Yeah, though there still is that "look at this AMAZING JAPANESE THING..." that isekais often have. Not the biggest fan of that, but the reactions it draws out of Rachel are very amusing.

I just started but I find very amusing the setting is described as "1355 Roman empire". That is entirely accurate, to be clear, but I pretty much only ever see it being called "Medieval Germany" or "Holy Roman Empire" in English media. To see it being called just "Roman Empire" without any qualifiers is very novel.

The purpose is p much "what happens when special interest meets artistic talent" ig xD

I look forward to more of our cute modern Japanese engineer who was able to get all of these modern amenities working in the Middle Ages.

I would not have guessed this was yuri if it wasn't for the tag. I didn't see a hint of attraction between the two, even while they were bathing.

Wow, a yuri Thermae Romae spinoff! I never expected this!

Since she lives in a mill by the river, I guess her power comes from the water wheel. If it's for a single house, she pretty much has unlimited electricity at her disposal.

Though I hope for her that she can get replacement parts if anything breaks.

Holy crap, a HISTORICALLY ACCURATE isekai that actually teaches you real things about medieval europe!?

Is it really isekai though? It's more time travel.

it's effectively an isekai and follows the genre trappings so why not? She's relegated to a small village so the time travel shouldn't affect the world at large and therefore it isn't a time travel story, even if she traveled in time.

Yeah fiction is weird

It's a matter of perspective, since to the 14th century people, Ema pretty much does come from another world (and that's what she's claiming since she's assumedly an isekai fangirl). I'm reminded of that Kaminashi series where the premise was about the MC getting isekai'd into a world without God, but it's later revealed that he was just flung forward in time to a point where God no longer existed. (It's crap. Don't watch it.)

I'm so ready for these absurdly long and overly specific titles to go out of fashion...

That being said, this seems somewhat interesting, I'll be following it for a while to see how it goes.

Far more adorable than you'd think from the title. I expect good things from this. ^_^

I'm only worried that if they started anything that they would be burned at the stake for being lesbians, or unmarried, or literate.

I like the research notes at the end. Using a bakery's oven for a steam bath is a delightful tidbit.

What a lovely story! I'm actually learning stuff and with women being cute to each other. Those looks in the bath had something behind them. So cute and lovely art.

Well there's no mention of burning for being the "witch of the mill" yet, so what's a little gay marriage on top of that? lol

I’d honestly be more worried about the fact that the witch lady almost certainly isn’t Christian. You could get away with a lot in the Middle Ages depending on where you lived and who you’re local leaders were, but religious differences? That was the kind of thing that got your house burned down by an angry mob. Especially during the plague, when people were especially desperate to find a scapegoat to punish for their suffering.

Also, I’m still not sure where the idea that it was illegal for medieval women to be literate came from. Nuns and nobles were oftentimes literate, and as far as I know there were never any laws prohibiting the lowborn people of either sex from learning how to read, even if it was uncommon. I don’t think there were ever any laws about women being unmarried either (although they did have fewer rights than even their married counterparts). Lesbianism, on the other hand… yeah, that could be an issue, but hey, maybe the lord in this story is cool with that kind of thing.
