I think it's clearer now than it's been in a long while that Aya has feelings for Koga. Some series have a slower pace, that doesn't mean they're not yuri. Gosh.

Slowness of the Burn aside I really like the progression of their relationship and how their feelings evolve over time. Despite how smitten Aya was with Mitsuki right at the beginning, you can really tell how much more she likes her now.
It's long gone beyond the superficial crush she had, there's some real commitment on her mind. And Mitsuki finally starts getting that into her head.

I guess it is somewhat funny that we went from a crush from shared interest to aiming for true commitment and just skipped the "getting together" part between the two. But it also shows that they both are looking into a possible relationship and how it writes into the other parts of their lives, making efforts to make things work from the get-go (with Joe and Kanna being examples of why figuring those things out matters).

If the chapter count is anything to go by, we're approaching the end of volume 2 (and of the manga?) which will be out in February 2024.

I see no reason to guess this series is ending anytime soon. It's bigger than ever and they've got a lot of development left to develop (they might finally get together soon but I trust this author enough to assume they're not the kind of hack who ends a story at the beginning of a relationship like some kinda shounen romance). The only premature outcome I can feasibly imagine for this is something like The Princess of Sylph, a serialization that results in a reboot, but this manga's so high profile at this point with that "This Manga is Amazing!" result that I can only imagine the author's received and turned down offers from magazines at this point.

There's no need to turn this into a magazine serialization when the twitter version is already getting physical volume releases.

Actually I just realized looking back that nobody's posted this here yet. "The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't A Guy At All" (under its original Japanese title "Ki ni Natteru Hito ga Otoko Janakatta" lol) won second place in the "This Manga is Amazing!" 2024 contest in the women's manga division.
