A fellow Mamiko Noto fan I see :) She was a large reason why Shimako was my favorite Marimite character back then.That soft throaty voice was just to die for..

FWIW and without spoiling too much, it's very much implied in the later novels that their relationship involves regular physical intimacy. Which doesn't mean that Shimamura wouldn't still identify as aro or ace, obviously. The author is the only one who would really know ultimately.

This is a major turning point in the novels for Shimamura and how she views her relationship with Adachi. From that point on, she's as dedicated to it as Adachi is, in her own way. It loses some of its impact in manga form, but still, it's a nice moment nonetheless :)

Hinami is like Adachi in a lot of ways; when she's without her soul mate, she just sits in her room and waits for her. It's quite poignant, actually
