I can get behind this. I mean, Watanabe seems to have two friends. One is Fujiyama and the other is Yoshioka. With the latter being a bit more proactive when it comes to supporting Watanabe's... Uh... Hobby. She FINALLY treats (tries to at least) Fujiyama like a person and a friend and wants to do something for her.

At the same time, she got so used to Yoshioka just being there, that the idea of someone taking that away felt a bit bad. Sure, it's a bit over the top, but I'm fine with it. This is, after all, that kind of manga.

All of this was what I wanted. I wanted Watanabe to become a bit more like an actual human being, and less like a walking meme.

Fuyu grew a lot this time around.
She didn't want her friend to be sad.
She didn't do it for the yuri.
Also, she realized that she is yuri too.
Christmas chapters are always amazing.
I am rooting for Fuyu and Aoi.
It broke my hear when Aoi just left looking all sad.

See??? I knew it. You just have to be patient, jeez. What fun is a story where everything is perfect immediately? The fun is in watching the character grow, which Watanabe did in spades this time around. I guarantee it wouldn't have been nearly as heartwarming if she'd just immediately gone from yuri otaku to perfect Mary Sue. Good stories show characters growing as people- just because they take a grand total of eight chapters to get there doesn't mean the main character deserves to be relentlessly bagged on for being flawed. It's no fun if everything starts out perfect/all the protagonists are paradigms of humanity. Nobody wants to read that.
