I really liked this chapter. I like the use of the three stages of drunk Aya in a non-comedic manner. Her exaggerated sadness (immediately jumping to "does she not love me anymore") seems realistic for a drunk person. Mistuki needs to stop being an idiot, of course. Avoiding even looking at her for this long because she felt awkward? Seriously.

Yeah, but let's not forget the fourth stage "clingy bug" is yet to come - if in this stage she gets clingy with Shu ,,, well either Mitsuki will either explode & act, or go into complete shut down.

Going on the trajectory so far, I'm going to guess it's shut down and we will get more chapters of the downwards spiral.

Yes, I am also curious if/how the fourth stage will appear.

I really appreciate all the comments explaining the chapter's connection to their respective songs because I hate/don't care at all about the bands in this

I am not even sure if Mitsuki understands what it means when the girlfriend is crying and leaning on someone else's shoulders. Just shoked? Any normal person would stop and go look after the girlfriend immediately.

Mitsuki is behind Aya. She hasn't seen the tears. She just sees the lean, and is terrified of what that could mean.

(Tho revisiting the stages of drunkenness, the tears aren't uncommon when she gets drunk anyway, she might not even recognize that they're out of the ordinary if she had seen them.)

Hah. Fun chapter.
Maybe you should check up on her, Mitsuki? She may be in a familiar place with people she knows but I don't think it's all that healthy to drink enough to pass out just like that.

It is, however, normal for Aya, as we saw back in chapter 144. She gets buzzed, starts crying, starts shouting, then dozes off. That's her regular pattern. The only difference is the clingy bug phase has her leaning on the wrong shoulder because her girlfriend is avoiding her.

This doesn’t have to turn into jealousy, she is already jealous. It’s the same with the dude and everyone saying “No Mitsuki is not jealous, she just wanted to confirm her relationship with Aya” and then extra confirm she was. It’s hot I love it.

I am disappointed that Shu-chan didn’t turn red as a tomato and exploded with Aya in her shoulder

The night is still young. I suspect we’re about to see a live Shu reaction soon enough.

I guess I’ve said it before, but I didn’t experience the first arcs of this series as being so consistently fluffy and drama-free—quite the contrary. Aya’s initial accidental discovery that “Onii-san” was Mitsuki, Mitsuki giving away the concert ticket to the friend, Mitsuki’s “coming out at school as cool” arc, etc. were all about uncertainty, interpersonal tension, and misunderstanding.

Those arcs all resolved happily enough, to be sure, and there were indeed loads of purely fluffy moments, like the music festival arc, and Mitsuki’s interactions with Aya’s mom and siblings, etc. But I just don’t see the latest chapters as less interesting than the earlier ones, even though everything doesn’t get resolved with a “Mitsuki’s unconscious rizz” moment anymore.

From what I've gathered, the "Mitsuki's unconscious rizz" moments played an important role in managing the audience's frustration levels from week to week. Without them, you are left without reprieve for longer periods. So now Mizuki gets booed every week, as if she was a sportsball player having a particularly bad season.

That’s a really good point, and maybe helps explain why so many comments popped up about how the series pacing wasn’t suited for drama when there had been plenty of drama before the shift to uni life.

I still think all this couple needs is for the headphone wires to get caught in the other one’s hair again . . .

So Mitsuki is insecure because she thinks that the only tie between Aya and her is music, and if the music stops, the relationship will graduatlly die off.

I maintain that this is good, although not enough. Mitsuki needs a wake up call. She's been taking Aya for granted a bit, like she'll always be there without Mitsuki putting in the emotional effort. Being there physically is not enough. Hopefully this leads to some self-reflection from Mitsuki, though I'm afraid we'll need something more drastic for her to fully realize.
