INCEST INCEST INCEST INCEST

this is like, the one Mochi Au Lait work to not have incest. it's like the only time I ever have seen incest specifically be averted as it was in the chapter it was even pondered upon.

wait, this one's a longshot of a theory but here it goes: I think Airi interpreted Nagi pulling her hand away as fear, of course, which her brain translated as Nagi feeling love towards her, which, for one reason or another, couldn't quite comprehend. I think Airi may otherwise recognize her own feelings of love towards Nagi, but does not necessarily believe that Nagi reciprocates those same feelings towards her, which is why she might have otherwise short circuited when she thought that Nagi was otherwise feeling "Love" towards her. Or maybe she just realized what she was doing, who knows. hashtag Nagi Loves Finger Licking

Is it a good thing that I immediately knew what this was referencing

My guess is they, the two of them, tried out a hypnosis kit Fumi brought; and having been watching horror stuff, they decided to do something in that direction. Airi went under, and Nagi put in a couple of triggers. Maybe something like 'when I offer to hold your hand, you will see me as a monster' or 'when you go home, you'll go to my place instead'.

But one little detail is catching my attention: the panel where it is stated 'I'm Takane Nagi and you're Arimoto Airi.' That sounds like a reaffirmation of some induced identity shenanigans. Like maybe the Airi we see is actually Nagi made to think she's Airi, and that's why when she tries to run home she runs to Nagi's home.

In any case, I look forward to seeing the curtain drawn back on this relatively benign mindscrew.

so, you weren't actually that far off with what mostly happened. Nagi was reaffirming the identities, but mostly to double check "hey, you know you're Airi, right?" which is what I expected in that from what little i've seen in that particular category, double identity swap at the same time is a bit out there. but like pretty good deduction based on what we were given!

it's also interesting that Airi seemingly might have gotten wires crossed in that rather than merely feeling good off of feeling fear, she might also feel fear she otherwise would not have if she was already otherwise "feeling good" or of love, perhaps. which is ESPECIALLY interesting in what parts she otherwise feels fear she wouldn't before.

I am also curious, where did the induction script for these chapters come from? were they translated or were they taken from somewhere external?

ego death fear play hypnosis arc..... this would've been fucking crack cocaine to me from 3 years ago

also I interpreted the "i'm takane nagi, and you're arimoto airi. Right?" panel as like nagi double checking that the hypnosis only went a specific amount and not too far, especially with the amnesia aspect. I thought she was double checking that like airi knew who she was and where she was, but forgot what had just happened to her. I do really like the interpretation that they "switched", so to speak, though cause that's just an interesting concept to me.

could go either way, to be honest, since it could be just nagi instinctively going back to her own house, or airi being hypnotized to go to nagi's house, which she said in chapter 20 she's been to a lot.

the author thought of random things to reference, at shoved it all into a single chapter

I think once the author realized they could safely start writing their interests because they secured a certain amount of volumes, they just started adding in a bunch of stuff they liked (go off queen). like throwing in best friend character who's into ntr? that extra with airi just getting tf-ed? author knows ball and is going for a half court shot

so did Nagi drugged Airi or what? I still don't get it

hypnotized in her sleep probably. lower left text about "breath" and "warmth"

https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/ill_become_a_gal_whos_kind_to_otaku_ch34#3

Yeah, the text in the bottom left and in the background of the proceeding page are both like, stuff you would hear to relax and become more suggestible or otherwise more pliable to hypnosis. I'm pretty sure I've heard audios with those.

ok, yeah, I wasn't imagining it, i'm pretty sure that's induction dialogue. did nagi really hypnotize airi to prank and scare her? that's really funny.

this is a massive self report, but is that hypnosis audio dialogue as the english text in the background?

this is a REALLY fucking good chapter. I think even if it does not end in the traditional yuri ending, I don't think it'll necessarily end in a het one either

Wow, this is the first series I've seen with the "Queer" tag.

Looked at this author's previous images and chuckled at the one with comments saying "wow this looks like Mio and Ritsu". I guess you weren't that far off

Before I type out my initial reply, is there a reason why it's tagged het?

the Pink Floyd Cover being present is like hella important, right? in the Drama CD mini manga, Aya talks about her first album and how she bought Dark Side Of The Moon on impulse just based on the cover.

The extra is very cute, I do feel like I got hit over the head seeing their birthdates as 2006 and 2008 respectively... I'm not used to see people that much younger than me to be adults lmao.

legit I was thinking something similar like "wow was this set in the future or something lol 2006 is ridiculously young" and then I quickly did the math and realized thats a 20 year old and felt old.

I want to write my full thoughts on the ending, I think it's quite good, but I find it interesting how Mao as a character is more fitting for the title, even though it's a sentiment from Nina. Mao wishes that her relationship with the guy was something more serious, something that he committed to. We see how he's a massive flake in a way, very unreliable in how he doesn't consider it to be a relationship and still leading her on, not even bothering to remember what stuff is hers. Even though part of the conflict doesn't lie within his fault, he still independently is just kinda scummy

joined Feb 22, 2026

Idk if it's necessarily depressing in my eyes due to the relative shortness of the relationship. Just like a "damn that happened. Crazy." Sort of thing

It's a bit ironic that two of the girls that are VERY interested in her romantically are like, the two that haven't taken the love potion yet. And Kurohime was also arguably interested in her even before the love potion

I react to like plain ol het on here like the scene from ATLA where they're like "JUST a bear?"

It's also interesting how the previous two entries references hinami slowly losing her 4th wall breaking abilities, and becomes an NPC as she describes it, but by having the wedding on panel, it implies the author still allowed them to get married. he still did want them to be happy

Galim genuinely what the fuck are you talking about. Why do you argue so passionately about a character you admitted you don't follow the series of. Why do you believe "we wanted to bridget to be transgender earlier but felt we couldn't" to mean "bridget was never meant to be transgender until now". Do you have some sort of condition where seventeen monkeys hit your skull with hammers? Why do you believe a character being [secretly male and then later realizing they're female means they weren't confused before]?
You bring up writers intent and then say "well we'll never know their intent and that's why I'm arguing this" despite famously the creators coming out to clarify their intent.
You're not even a good shit stirrer. You play your hand face up.

Mod Edit: Don't use the slur. Quotes around it doesn't stop it from being one.

This chapter's pretty interesting in what I can extract from it; Rinko is clearly interested in Mitsuki romantically, tries to shoot her shot, but Mitsuki turns her down. But note that before Aya appears, the way that Mitsuki runs off would have been a REALLY devastating way to avoid sharing an umbrella with someone by just gunning for it when you were previously waiting already, but in the broader context her just wanting to wait for Aya, and how she actually phrases it, she's just trying to let her down easily.
Seeing how Hime's introduction to the series also started with her saying "I think I'm in love", it's safe to assume it's going to expand from here.
