Honestly this psychological stuff is, as far as I can see, all in Mirei's head. When Mirei got obsessive and creepy saying "Cute" it wasn't Soprano who got scared, it was Mirei. I think Mirei is forever scared of romantic feelings, both coming from herself and others. I also think people are overthinking on Soprano not answering on the pictures. Considering how Mirei's entire deal in childhood was "My memories with Soprano" I bet 90℅ of the pictures were literally JUST Soprano, and that isn't really great for Soprano who wanted so many more pics from Mirei.

because I am an optimist and glutton for punishment, I read an unhealthy amount of crossdressing manga. This is one of the very very few manga that draw the "crossdressing" "boy" with a prominent Adams Apple — even after applying magic makeup. Also, the way Momiji's hands are drawn is legit giving me lowkey dysphoria.

If we want to give this manga a charitable interpretation, then the fact that Ao is finding Kouyou attractive after falling for Momiji is just further proof that trans women are women — something she herself doesn't understand because she only just realised she's gay and the only trans woman she knows doesn't know she's a trans woman herself. So: Kouyou figuring out his gender would make for a sweet story, as would Ao figuring out her sexuality, but them doing it at the same time makes for a messy story and that's what we're here for.

Anyway, a trans girl who calls herself a dickgirl isn't great representation, and neither is the pervert lesbian in this chapter. But, so far, the gag factors have not relied on dehumanising any of them: This chapter saw the standard setup of getting the two hiding in the locker, but the twist wasn't that Kouyou got an erection. But I'm sure there's plenty of potential to mess this up next chapter!

As an aside, it's interesting how little Momiji gets sexualised so far. She only shows up in chapter 3's last page for titilation (I'll give chapter 4's final page a pass). And for Momiji being a (suspected) trans woman) / Kouyou being a cross dresser there's only one scene which draws attention to her crotch https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/momiji_and_kouyou_ch03#11 and that scene, again, has her hands drawn in a decidedly unfeminine way. Have I mentioned how the way Momiji is drawn is messing with my head? (I love it, lol and patiently await more)

As mentioned by rudtud at the end of the chapter (and a note in the pixiv upload) this entirely takes place in the past from Junna's perspective this time. The assumption here is that it basically happen right after Junna was defeated. We get the scene of her recovery and then sometime after that, Floria Knights gets wrecked by this newly promoted cur as a result of the fight with Junna taking such a toll on them.

I did want Junna's past to be explored but I guess it became a monkey's paw especially since the series kinda runs on dropping bombshells.

I do like the callback to chapter 5. As for the first love line, I'll give the author the benefit of the doubt in the sense that Hane isn't exactly confessing persay. There is something to be said about properly confessing vs implying someone was/is their first love they want to protect after just wanting to be regular friends earlier, it's hard to explain so you can crucify me for it.

I am going to bring back some people mentioning Junna's low self esteem and I think we see inkings of this. The pain point the cur uses is the fact that Junna being weak = Floral Knights being weak. Junna's pride on both her loss to Hane and her love for Hane seems to fuel what would become the Junna we see in the present last chapter. One who helps the Floral Knights as the anti-hero magical girlish/former demon general in order to get a rematch with Hane.

The whole concubine line is just cringe that will probably get the cur killed next chapter but he also mentions that the lord of evil group is looking for a new body after the previous was destroyed, with Hane being a potential canididate which I guess there is that potential setup for later. I'll let my soul be stained in black if that's what it takes

My only hope is the lord is not the actual older magical girl she liked

I just had a horribly sad thought. Sakura was apparently in some kind of program, that was training orphans to be assassins, or something, I guess? She was obviously hopelessly alone. What if Chiharu, Saaya, and Ruka are all just figments of Sakura's imagination, she created to help her cope with the horrible pain of loneliness.

I really don't think that's true but now that I've had the thought I can't shake it. Honestly the whole series gives sad wistful vibes that makes feel like someone is dealing with something very painful in their life, and is looking back remembering all the the good times they had.

I really don’t think the whole series is in her head. Seems more to me that she got adopted and is working out the numerous problems she has from her upbringing with people that love her.

Yeah, also the whole "It never happened" or "It was a dream all along" trope is really too overused to give sad endings

Welp, guess I was wrong, we did actually get to see a little of The Facility (TM). I feel like I remember Sakura playing a shooting game at a summer festival, but now I can't find it? Not sure if foreshadowing or figments of a tired brain's imagination.

With how many people praised "Sorry, but I'm not into women" (the manga about a girl constantly spiking people's drinks with a love potion) and this one keeps getting bashed over the gender "hurdle" I sincerely think people are only looking at this one to cause arguments because it could have any trans rep at all.

The extras just cement this as a very happy ending. I love this so much.

She was in an orphanage most her life, literally the orphanage shows up and it looks like a standard orphanage. I sincerely still feel weird with parts of this story, but on others I think it's plausible.

Okay, does the "A girl's voice...!?" use any term implying a young girl in the original? Because if not I have a new working hypothesis:

There's some Lobotomy Corp/Song of Saya situation going on and we the reader don't get to see the real Sakura (who presumably looks normal) but only a cutesy facsimile. That'd explain her inconsistent height and why nobody comments on her apparent age.

Or.... She recognizes its not her daughter's voice and thinks "Which girl did she bring home this time" considering Sayaa was uh... Playful in her youth.
