I bet Mitsuki has to be hyper cute and energetic in this band as opposed to her naturally cool and chill self. Mitsuki probably hates to force a cheerful persona. I wonder how Aya will react lol

Given how talented Shiho's band seems to be, it doesn't shock me that they went "viral". The real test of the story's writing is how the next chapter is handled. Insta-success without any further struggle would be boring. But I trust the author is just using this as a jumping point into the band working even harder and facing more challenges.

Would be interesting if Yori joined Shiho's band, just based on the chapter cover art. And it was nice to see Shiho interacting nicely with Yori this chapter. Foreshadowing??

She wants Shou to initiate; Shou then does this by asking to hold her hands. That's why we get the pause on Umi's face as an interruption of her thoughts. She's touched. So it ends happily. The "problem" is pretty much resolved there.

I dunno, I'm happy Sorawo finally realises the truth, but why is only Toriko allowed to be sad? Why is Sorawo supposed to do all the effort of trying to meet her halfway, while she has all that history and baggage from her past that are clearly affecting who she is as a person and how she behaves. She is litterally traumatised from her past experiences and this affects everything she does, thinks and feels. And Toriko is the one we should feel bad for because her crush doesn't reciporate her feelings. Get the fuck out of here. If you actually love someone, you don't force them to love you back. Like, if you notice your crush gets uncomfortable whenever you try to make a move, lies, avoids you, you should know something is wrong, and if you truly love them, you would try to figure out what is going instead of getting angry or sad about it. It feels Toriko thinks she entitled to Sorawas love.

Because Sorawo is in love with Toriko and she knows that? Sorawo herself mentions how easy she is to read, add this to the fact that she always talks about how pretty Toriko is and stuff, and you have a person (Toriko) who sees a person in love with them, who for some reason rejects their advances.

Because having feelings is not the same wanting to be together, you can't just make that decision for someone else. And Sorawa didn't even realise until recently what her feelings were. I'm not saying Toriko can't feel sad, but be atleast a bit more aware of Sorawas feelings. She has also been aware of Sorawas behavior, and she just gets mad at it instead of trying to understand why she behaves like this.

Methinks Toriko is much more aware of Sorawo's feelings and behavior and is trying much harder to understand Sorawo and be considerate than our unreliable narrator (Sorawo) realizes...

Understanding someone's behavior doesn't make that behavior any easier to digest. Toriko is head over heels in love with Sorawo, who has also reciprocated those feelings (while naked and alone with her in a hot spring, of all places lol), and yet Sorawo runs away at every chance of physical intimacy and runs away from depending their relationship even emotionally. It feels pretty reasonable that Toriko would be sad about this.

I think the audience can feel sad for Sorawo and her very messed up family history (lost her mom, family fell into a cult, became very messed up from traumatic cultist activities) and also feel sad for Toriko that her love interest isn't returning her feelings (remember that Toriko also lost both parents (I believe first mentioned in manga vol 3?), lost Satsuki (her only friend/romantic interest), and is so shy that she basically only has Kozakura and Sorawo in her life).

It's not a contest (not one that either of them is winning ;_;). We can be sad for both of them in various ways.

Probably reading too much into this, but is Kanna pregnant?? Mitsuki asking about Kanna's health is nothing special, but Joe saying "she's even working" implies that's she's in a state where it wouldn't be expected that she's working.

So... PREGNANT?? Or maybe dealing with a cold or something, but I like the pregnant theory lol

I haven't missed the reveal of what happened to her mother, did I? Except that she's a mermaid of course, although now I feel like it's more likely she drowned or something :P

I don't recall a specific reveal, no. Missing narratively, but we don't know if divorced, disappeared, or known dead.

Chapter 4 brings it up. Baby Shou asks why she doesn't have a mom, dad says she was born from his butt. Later he says "she's a mermaid, that's why we can't live together. Right after you were born, she returned to the ocean."

So my best guess would be "died in/right after childbirth", but there's room for other stuff. I also wonder about Shou's grandparents...

It would be insane if Shou's mom shows up one day, having been away due to divorce or something lol. What a plot twist!

I know people are worried that the series is going to end. Honestly, me too. But it feels like the series is at its peak in popularity (maybe hasn't even hit it's REAL peak yet??) and an anime just got announced. This is like the BEST time to gain new fans and sell more manga. Surely the author won't let this moment go to waste...? Right?

If Joe leaves, I doubt he's going to just sell his shop. And Mitsuki would surely want to keep running it (and she knows how to do it). So... Mitsuaya living together and running the shop together while Aya goes to college and Mitsuki pursues music domestic storyline, yes? YES??

I'm probably going to get hated for this, but...

As much as I appreciate Mitsuki's character growth to becoming assertive and confident (and as much as Aya clearly appreciated that little move as well), Mitsuki is still showing facets of jealousy, control, and lack of trust. In real life, these things are huge red flags.

If someone had come up to Mitsuki and asked her about Western music, she would have gone into full "geek mode" and chatted them up non-stop; if said person had done that under the pretense of flirting with her, Mitsuki would not have noticed; she would have been ass-deep in gushing about Eric Clapton and George Harrison 0.38 seconds upon hearing the song playing on his phone. So, for her assume Aya couldn't deal with this shows a rather meaningful lack of trust, and maybe even a bit of projection.

And, considering the meaning of the song... Patti Boyd made her choice, and George Harrison respected it. Mitsuki would know that.

So yeah... I love this comic, I've loved it since the moment I first laid eyes on it, but I can't say I like this particular entry, and I hope it isn't the start of a dark path for Mitsuki.

I mean, I'm not gonna hate you for it, but I do disagree.

Most of Mitsuki's big rizz moments happen because she is unaware of what she's doing. With that being the pattern, it's possible, in fact I'd say probable, that in that moment she went, "Oh, wait, we never actually said we were dating, did we? I better make sure we're on the same page." "Hey, are we?" (Cue Aya's bewildered response) "Okay, cool, awesome, I thought so, that's so great." (blissfully unaware that she just stunted on Ono and announced them to the rest of the class.)

I mean, tell me that's not 100% her modus operandi throughout this entire series.

Yup, THIS. The fact that Mitsuki was so casually "let me confirm that we're dating, and I don't care who overhears it" is so AWESOME. No jealousy, no embarrassment, no shame. Just wholesome and charismatic communication lol

I know I'm basically asking for spoilers, but without being too spoilery can someone please tell me if Elsa gets mad at Yvonne for a similar reason in the novel? It feels like forced drama for the sake of creating drama. Elsa was already aware at Dorothee but continued to treat Yvonne normally until JUST now? And Elsa has been secretly frustrated/mad at Yvonne for keeping this secret for how long and is only now asking for space...?

I guess teenagers are gonna be teenagers, but feels out of character for them.

god yess we're entering one of my favorite files. probably the most significant event for their relationship. i really hope the manga can adapt it well!!

I wish the author would've continued the series. The characters are so great and Mafuyu x Koharu only JUST started dating. Give us more!! ;_;
