Thanks for clarifying, and yeah everyone has their preferences. I think part of where I’m coming from is that I’ve seen a lot of cases where people use their hate for a tag to comment on a work with the tag, about how much they hate content with that tag. It can sometimes feel like they’re there to ruin it for people that do enjoy the tagged content. So I’m glad you clarified, and it’s fair if harems aren’t your thing.

In the original timeline, Youyan drank herself to death because Jing Xiu was getting married to someone else. That event is a couple years away in the current timeline, but has already been more or less derailed by changes to the timeline. There's no accident to escape, just a relationship to mend.

Thematically, this is a story about addressing regrets, not overcoming fate.

I think jing xiu knows ofbthe past life due to her getting extremely suspicious almost angry when Youyan drinks .

Ones like these just remind me of how lonely and suffocating it was to be gay in a society / family that looks down on anything gay .
