Oho interesting. I really thought she was gonna turn down Nanao at even the prospect of startijg a relationship with Mai. Instead it seems distance has made the heart grow fonder. Asumi has always been kinda distant about the prospect of a relationship, particularly with Nanao. Which is kinda odd since she's the only person she's had sex with that wasn't part of a brothel (boss aside). The intimacy seems to be catching up to her at the right moment to cause the most drama with Mai (down horrendously). Can't wait to see how this all resolves.

Definitely. Nanao is so far ahead of Mai on the Asumi track, she's basically behind the event horizon. I hope Mai's heartbreak won't be that bad when she learns how things stand...

I think the "change" is Asumi stopping to view Nanao as a client to be serviced and starting see her as a co-equal girlfriend to pamper and to be pampered by. That's my headcanon.

Unfortunately I don't see much intimacy coming from Asumi. She seems to view Nanao as just a sex friend and that awakening this chapter seemed to be more about her finding equal enjoyment from seeing someone else enjoy themselves more then anything else.

I'd love if that weren't the case but she doesn't linger on Nanao anymore (even though I think she should based on how the story has been written). It seems like the play is to just forget all that--even Nanao isn't as fussed about Mai as you would expect. But we'll see.

I’ve said it before but I just can’t imagine this devolving into a “who will she pick” finale. We’re so far past the idea of this girl “settling down” with someone when the brothel addiction has already set in.

I also love how this chapter reinforces how everyone Asumi ever interacts with loves her to death. She’s a ray of sunshine but also catnip to lesbians.

To be clear, I was just joking when I made that comment about Asumi using what she learned from all the friends/prostitutes she met along the way to top Mai. Yet, for some reason, this started feeling more real after this chapter. Is it just me?

This manga views brothels and situationships with a lot of idealism so I wonder if it's working towards a threesome ending with Asumi, Mai, and Nanao or if Asumi will choose just one girl in the end. Despite the premise revolving around finding Mai, I feel like most of the reader base doesn't really care about her any more than the other brothel workers given how much time has passed since the first fakeout of them potentially meeting and how much development Nanao's gotten instead. I'm curious to see what direction the author goes with this.

I think more open and flexible relationships work best here. I can't see Asumi going down the path of a monogamous relationship, one that is deemed "acceptable" by society. She's a very sexually open person who seems very happy with her current relationships.

It would honestly feel out of character for Asumi to go monogamous at this point. Maybe years later in her life, maybe not, but right now it really feels like she's found her niche.

But Nanao above all else. They go together really well, though Nanao can get rather intense.

I hope we do get several chapters with Asumi and Mai. They both have these grand mental images of each other built up through the years, and it'll be interesting to see how reality hits them.

Yeah I agree with this comment. At this point Asumi is more likely to become a sex worker herself than settle down with Nanao or Mai. I think she's probably just gonna keep fucking around and Mai/Nanao will just be top of a long long list. I mean remember that at this point there are like 3 characters canonically in love with Asumi, and dozens more who think she's their favorite client.

I need Nanao to be included in the end, I want to see her happy. She's probably my favorite partner of Asumi, there's something about their chemistry that simply works like magic for me. Plus Nanao is super adorable as well.
