I'm not sure why everyone is saying Yuni should have therapy now. Not saying she doesn't need it, but this is the first chapter since the beginning in which she seems to be pretty honest with herself, and with Fuuko. It looks like she is starting to sort out her feelings, which is a good thing. Of course she is going to be even more a of mess while doing it, she has so much to unravel.

That’s true, she is reaching the point where she’s realized “literally nothing I do makes me happy” which yeah, good first step. And while I’m not a psychologist, I feel like what she really needs is a good support system and people (multiple) who will support her no matter what, and… I don’t think any of these girls are there yet. Fuuko could be, I think the ship has sailed for Nanase. And while Fuuko is finally realizing what she really wants, rather than just telling Yuni what she wants to hear, Yuni so clearly finding her wants off putting while still calling out to her at the end of the chapter makes me really excited to see what happens next.

We already know these girls have issues, and I know this isn’t the most thoughtful or original observation, but wow Yuni needs therapy yesterday.

These two really became one of my favorite couples. I’m so down to explore both of their POV, and you can so clearly see what’s going on in their head just from their actions and expressions.

Hands down th best male character in any yuri manga.

What I love about him is that he’s mostly kept all his character traits. He’s still a noisy doofus that likes to meddle in others business, but because he’s able to actually take a hint and aspires to be an ally in addition to god’s most special little boy he’s really entertaining.

He feels like a character right out of a teen sitcom, and for his archetype he’s the perfect pick to plan a prom.

There it is. One of my favorite confession scenes in any yuri series. The line about Gon is one of my favorites from the LN, and I’m so glad to have that as a manga page now.

Yuni is just a pushover and Fuuko, the Caterpillar Fungus, is progressively taking control of her life.

I’m not on the “Fuuko has done nothing wrong” train like some others are, but I think this take detracts from Yuni’s own behavior. You can explain her going along with Fuuko as her being a pushover, but her refusal to take any responsibility or to stop blaming everyone but herself is her own flaw, and the source of the conflict for the whole series. Fuuko might be taking advantage of the situation, but Yuni is in this mess by her own fault.

Either Nanase really is the dumbest human alive (which tracks with what we’ve seen so far) or she doesn’t even care if Yuni is cheating anymore. They both have that strained reaction when Fuuko is told to take her to the infirmary, and yet when she grabs Yuni’s hand Nanase doesn’t make any kind of move. “Okay girl who I know is trying to steal my girlfriend from me you two go be alone for a while I’ve gotta focus on spoooooorts!”

Man I really love this artist. Being passed out in the backseat of a car leaning on each other is peak high-school student behavior. Love it when the little details are done so right.

Aside from the phone call, this was the chapter I was waiting to see the most.

Shimamura’s descriptions of Gon were always so pleasant, and did a great job showing how much she loved him. I’m so happy that they captured that lovable, old family dog energy so well in the manga, as well as her conflicted expressions.

Well I just binged this whole series in one day and now I’m eagerly awaiting the next chapter.

Every NTR triangle needs one of the members to be nice but dumb, and Nanase fits that pretty well.

Yuni is straight up reprehensible. Constantly does selfish thing after selfish thing to try and satisfy herself all while blaming literally everyone but herself when it blows up in her face. The worst person in the room wherever she goes. So she’s amazing and I love her and I can’t wait to see what she does next.

Fuuko is also using Yuni to feel better about herself, and if I’m being honest she’s pretty terrible herself, but honestly she’s observing an ongoing trash fire and trying to spin it in a way that benefits her. I don’t really blame her, I guess. And 90% of the time she’s just prodding at Yuni’s many, many loose screws. I don’t think her and Yuni would make a “healthy” couple, nothing is healthy about these two, but they deserve each other way more than Yuni deserves Nanase.

Nanase is a bit of a dummy but she doesn’t deserve all this. Story could’ve been solved in 3 chapters if Yuni had the guts to actually talk with Nanase about her insecurities and loneliness, but she instead just makes wrong choice after wrong choice and it continues to spiral downward.

PLEASE. I need to see this. Not because I’m particularly excited for smut, I’ve read enough of Ooshima’s works to where that feels pretty standard. But I’ve been watching Shiine fumble for almost five years now. I NEED the closure that this girl can indeed set a proper mood without chickening out.
