The Elisha and Honoka finale was so good, I was at least hoping for something like that for the “big” pairings. Sounds like I’m not the only one disappointed. Still, it’s hard to complain when the series has been going for so long and has been so good for almost the entire time.

We wouldn’t be here talking about it without Chads, so here’s a shoutout to the absolute legends that translated each and every chapter. And here’s hoping that Kishi’s next series is just as good.

How far you have come Koga Mitsuki, from trying to leave Aya with someone else because “there’s no way she would prefer to go with me” to dedicating your artistic existence to how much you love your girlfriend. Inspirational.

God damn, good stuff.

That ChikaYou segment wasn’t nearly long enough, but the saturated sweetness makes up for it. And the rest are great too.

Not gonna lie, I think I’m ready for Itsumi to go back to tongue wrestling Rin and Yanagi again. This arc has been going on for a while, but watching Itsumi pop off in the Among Us lobby is pretty fun.

As absolutely precious Rin may be, I was always a Yanagi fan. I hope they get to go to Karaoke again like she wanted, considering last time… yeah.

I’ve said it before but I just can’t imagine this devolving into a “who will she pick” finale. We’re so far past the idea of this girl “settling down” with someone when the brothel addiction has already set in.

I also love how this chapter reinforces how everyone Asumi ever interacts with loves her to death. She’s a ray of sunshine but also catnip to lesbians.

Welp, what Kase is saying to Yamada is correct and valid in isolation. But at the same time, she is probably the last person to be morally justified for complaining about her girlfriend neglecting their relationship to please a third party, given her, uh, track record with that.

I was coming to say the same thing. “Is your job really that important to you” girl DO NOT even go there like you have ANY room to talk

It’s kinda weird going from the incredibly pessimistic first chapter to this downright cheery ending. The reason this series grabbed me was that news broadcast in chapter 1 completely selling the miserable attitude of the MC. Closing it out with a callback to that where gay marriage passed is surprisingly optimistic from this mangaka.

But she’s also a gay woman living in Japan, maybe she just wanted to write an optimistic ending. Can’t say I blame her the way the world is going.

I love this chapter, so it’s great to see it get a better translation here :)

Things that are just good in this chapter:
- Marika acknowledging internally that she is in love and the brat tamer dynamic being better communicated / clearly consensual
- Dealing with being gay and thoughts on coming out and hurtful assumptions in a really clear and direct way that a lot of yuri side steps
- Marika being a literal card carrying lesbian and her friends definitely being like “huh”… but she’s still not mentally grouping herself as a lesbian when thinking about lesbian spaces and support

A lot of Arioto isn’t realistic, but this pivot chapter is a wholesome, gentle, grounded, and funny development in Marika’s gradual process of understanding what it means to be queer.

This chapter (or equivalent pages) in the LN is when I became a ride or die for this series. We’ll see more in the upcoming onsen trip, but Marika really is just addicted to goalpost moving. Even after acknowledging that she’s definitely gay and loves her girlfriend she still has to find a way to win the bet. That’s fun, I like it. And we all know how that’s going to end up.

The friends being a couple the whole time genuinely surprised me, and was my sign that, problematic elements and all, this series has a good heart. Very wholesome indeed.

I watched Carol in a Film 101 class. I did not know it was a gay film going into the screening but from the first interaction they had in the department store I just kinda felt it.

I didn’t expect an all out sex scene, but I was happy to be right XD

Oh yeah, we got our 2nd chapter with Mari and Yuu for this year.

This series is so horny as is, it’s always fun when Itsuki-sensei decides to quadruple down and just give us some pretty intense sex scenes

Ooooooh, if I may be old for a moment, a yuri confessional reminds me of a Mahou Sensei Negima chapter.

One of the side characters Misora sets up a confessional booth and uses magic to make her voice sound like a priest, just to see what kind of gossip/chaos she can spread. The first one to show up is Setsuna, the series’ “””closet””” lesbian, who confesses that she’s been wanting to marry another girl (who the audience and Misora know is Konoka).

Misora immediately responds “girl, if you love her, go for it! Don’t worry about those old fashioned weirdos!” While sounding like an old man. This reminded me of that.
