Oh heck.... oh hell
Uhhh....
Well, based on the other chapters, Sakura wanting to say bye bye to the world wasn’t exactly surprising considering the information we got from the chapters she’s been in but I didn’t expect it this soon.
And god... knowing that happened to Mogumo in the past and Sakura witnessed it when she was that young... god I feel terrible for these siblings. Mogumo is doing much better cuz they have people to support them but Sakura’s a real big mess. Though, considering that end, Mogu may or may not be in a bigger mess now
Dang, I just want them all to be happy and for the dad of Mogu and Sakura to eat a bag of shit for his behavior. Words are way stronger sometimes than actions and they can really mess a child up

odds are they passed out but the freeze frame was for The Drama

at worst, they got a shallow slash across the face or stomach and just blacked out from the stress of it

not to light any fires, but why do people think Every story(manga or not) about trans people has to be educational ?? can we not just have cute stories too ?
you don't read every single yuri expecting to be taught about all about the struggles of lesbians, so why is this any different ?

First half of the chapter: that was some nice fluff to balance out all the other shit recently uploaded here

Last part: Yeah I didn't need to be depressed right now.

This is more a matter of what gets published than anything. The trans community at large would love more variety in works about trans people, but that isn't what gets published. There is a bit of speculation as to why, but I personally think it's because the cis people in charge of publishing don't believe in publishing works about trans people unless there is some sort of reason why the character HAS to be trans. You see this sort of thing with all sorts of minorities. Although FukaBoku is willing to get a little fluffy from time to time, one of the reasons it's my favorite manga about trans people.

I know it! That nurse zombie discuss was a foreshadowing all along.

Come on Tetsu, I expected an immediate hug after that. I guess it's time to confront the parents. Gotta say tho that wasn't a very nice thing Mogu said to their mom. Could have been handled better but then again dad isn't exactly father of the year.

Mogu is a child in an abusive household. Their mother is also struggling and confused, but the dad is an abusive shithead who treats his kids like shit just because he's never bothered to understand them. You shouldn't hold an abused child responsible for lashing out in frustration.

Glad Mogumo wasn't hury any worse after that cliffhanger. Hopefully they are able to patch things up with the family and their mom can hopefully start to get better.

it was a bad situation that wasn't kind to anyone. sure mogu said harsh things to their mother but their mother and father spent just as many years not listening to them. their parents were invested in the idea of mogu rather than the truth of who they actually are

A friend asked me if it was safe reading this manga, because they thought the art was misleading (as in it was a fanservice). But then I said, "No, you can trust Hachimitsu Scans for this kind of manga."

And I was so looking forward to this chapter! And now I want the next one!

What Evitron said. It was just sad it had to come to that and at such a young age for Mogu too. As I said, dad wasn't helping and he wasn't even there. Not sure what to feel about the upcoming parental confrontation. There is good intention behind it but I am scared for anyone getting hurt. Hopefully Testu comes along to be there for Mogu.

God everything about this sucks. Constant misgendering, the predatory stereotype with the lesbian side couple, the posturing as progressive, and then the family drama torture porn in the latest chapters that is hard to take seriously when mogu has been misgendered the whole time by their partner. It maybe was gonna do something clever with Mai being like "all this girlyboy stuff hasn't helped me has it?" and had her grasp how it complicated her deal, but that thread ran cold. Pissed at this one not willing to stick its neck out for it's own main character and instead beat them down.

Is this manga an accurate representation of non-binary people?

No, Mogu is never referred to with gender neutral pronouns or makes any claim that he/they prefers the "he" that is used throughout, though considering how they feel about masculinity would pretty likely use something neutral and speak up on the matter as everyone using "him" around them (mogul's boyfriend included) obviates it a lot.

Mogu's mother is not responsible for the body they were born in, but all those years she denied who they are. That's why they lashed out.

A friend asked me if it was safe reading this manga...

Warn them not to read the prequel.

Yes. And I sure wish a certain self-loathing person would stop trying to make cisgenders hate us all.

So he’s your average Japanese father then?

Maybe you should leave the commentary to the adults.

Dude, I'm not sure what you mean but I don't think that's the manga's fault? I haven't read the raws but third person gendered pronouns are not as common in Japanese and afaik, people prefer using the person's name (with a suffix). In this case, they say "Mogumo", "Mogu-chan" or "Ryuu-chan".
Like, gendered pronouns aren't a strict thing in many languages.
