Hmm...so a girl in her class is into her much like Mii Chan who is into Kasane, well not anymore but once was and maybe still is...what's the point of that?
I never understood what the point of having a side character develop feelings for the main character for it to go nowhere because the main couples will end up together. Is it for the side characters growth? But shouldn't growth be directed to the main character because we don't get much panel time and monologue from side characters? It only makes sense if the main characters don't end up together...it's such a shitty plot device to keep the reader in suspense of whether the main characters will choose eachother or not. Maybe I'm over reacting but it leaves a bad taste in me.
They simultaneously push progress and raise tension. It's useful but yeah it's often predictable because the way they're typically used is kind of taken from a this-is-how-its-been-done-in-other-manga- playbook. I imagine it's also an editor thing as well as "risk" aversion.
I really like this series, though, especially how unequivocal she is in her lack of interest. Those disgusted faces are hilarious and right from the soul.
