Okay I love how this series is like really, REALLY allergic to being serious, to the point where the punchline of a chapter is literally a fart joke.

There are many, many fart sound effects in English though, and the sound is revealed on the following page to not be a rifle shot. It does kill the gag unfortunately. But also, none of the sfx are localized in this series, so that's just one of the risks of doing a silent series.

That being said, we've hit peak comedy. The only thing left is banana peels and pies in faces.

I don't know where you got the idea that it's not a rifle shot. It's decidedly meant to be a rifle shot, with it presumably being a sound pun.
