Why are we tackling another issue when we still haven't wrapped up the other issue that's been dragging on for months at this point smh

The chapter title is literally "Catalyst", just be patient and wait for the coming reaction

I do think its a little funny that the main couple never faced this but now we get homophobia by proxy. Which most likely is because the author doesn’t want to expand to much about that and in fact it being by proxy means its going to be very short to add insight to Aya and Mitsuki character and relationship.
Which I appreciate, I don’t really like the “winning againts homophobia” type of arcs

Wondering how much of the “why start a new problem before resolving the old one” is criticism, and how much actually comes directly from the effectiveness of the work—that is, that Mitsuki’s artistic issues and the couple’s communication problems are so stressful that the thought of delaying the resolution is making people upset. This arc is painfully well done, I’ve actually taken a break from reading it as things come out because sitting in this level of discomfort with characters I’ve followed for years is just too stressful for me right now. It’s such a new face of a story that’s been fairly joyful and low-stakes so far, it really reflects the change in difficulties as we grow up, and the fact that such a different mode is so emotionally provocative really shows off the mangaka’s range.

Who says that to a kid? Regardless of their situation, that's not very tactful.

I did a little fist pump at the NIN mention and immediately deflated that the kid wasn't allowed to watch... Closer? I guess that one would come up on autoplay or as recommended. And I don't think any of the others could be that objectionable? Aside from the whole Broken film. But it's not like that one is fun to watch casually anyway.

And honestly? Given how Joe and Kanna worked things out, I cannot believe Mitsuki gave him that response. While "everything" may be a broad spectrum, there are still better ways to phrase it.

It is deep, but I think it because he hasn't lived long enough for the idealism to wear off yet. Where as Mitsuki had this quote written on her face.
“It's not the despair, Laura. I can take the despair. It's the hope I can't stand. ~ Brian Stimpson, Clockwise

― John Cleese

But, this interaction might be just what she needs to start a long needed conversation with Aya (hopefully including WHY she stopped playing music) and get back on track. Overly optimistic? Maybe, but I can hope (it won't kill me yet).

When you are depressed, your mind just filters out positive examples. I am suspecting that this is what is going on with Mitsuki at the moment.

Mitsuki is having the angst get to her and that's why she can't see the harm in tamping down a child's hopes and ideals. Her communication issues and art block is just weighing her down.

People just log in here and type anything. By this logic, any time a couple fights, it should be labeled "abuse".

See, Aki-kun isn't a side story, he's the one who will help solve their problems this time.

I don’t think what Mitsuki told Aki-kun is bad, I also don’t think there are better ways to say that. It’s like saying you can’t talk to kids about divorce lol
The “problem” is that Aki comes with the problem from school and that Mitsuki didn’t expand on the idea but even if she didn’t, it’s really not that big of a deal either.
Also, what he said imo it’s not that deep, at that age if they have a fast runner in their class kids tend to think “you can beat everyone in the world” they are extremist which is cute but in the case of love/relationships which is something even they have at that age, I don’t think is bad to have some “reality” conversation

Pretty sure they're referring to the time Mitsuki slept with Aya while Aya was drunk. But to me, this just shows that the poster has never been in a committed relationship, because most couples give each other pre-consent for that kinda stuff. I've definitely had drunk sex with my committed partner before, and no, I didn't feel like I was abused lol

i told myself i wouldn't respond if someone else did, but oh well, i couldn't keep my word.
if those are your standards, that's fine, but it was never okay to take advantage of someone who was drunk for sex, which is what happened and the author chose to forget. (it's even worse if the drunk person doesn't remember what happened, as seems to be the case with aya).
well, i guess we all have different interpretations of the situation, but i still don't have any hope for mitsuki after that :/
edit: and i'm even less inclined to swallow the propaganda that "mitsuki is depressed and needs to touch her girlfriend"... sorry, but in stable relationships, you talk before having drunk sex (just one drunk person, in this case)
