I love that the protagonists are actually fucked up, it's refreshing. Really enjoying this one.

It's very Sal Jiang, isn't it? I kept thinking of Black & White the whole time!

Digging the art and enjoying the tone. Feels very casual and real (okay yes it's a story about demon hunting but you know what I mean.)

Bitch is nuts for real. I did not expect this swerve. Grandiose delusions are GO!

You cannot call the professionals to take the person to the ward (or sectioned) unless the person harming herself or planing to harm others.

... Do you live in California, perchance? (Not making a joke, that's a real question.)

Nope, no update at all EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT IT UPDATEEEEEEEDDDDD
ohhhhh

Also, it's good to know that despite the gross and objectively incorrect sin of not liking Thai food, these characters are still real and human.

Wait, I'm sorry, hold on.

It's just instant noodles...

... Is... Is that a thing in China? Serving Top Ramen at a restaurant?

Tell me I'm misunderstanding something. Or that that's a bad translation.
Please.

... Well, the ending was a bit rushed, and not being able to see them in wedding dresses is a devastating blow.

But this final(?) chapter was sweet as fuck and my God did they pull out all the stops on that art for this final stretch. Beauty and warmth and happiness from wall to wall.

This was good.

...Is CGRascal translating this series?

I ask because I'm seeing more than a few sentences that aren't (worded as) questions getting question marks put on the end.

I was going to say something here about the new chapter but the chibi page entirely wiped my mind of anything that came before it.

That was possibly the best way that a story like this could have ended. It's still the classic "and then she waited and then they met up again after graduation" type of resolution, but in a much sweeter and more meaningful way.

Also the kissing. Repeatedly and enthusiastically. Rarely do we eat so well in a final chapter!

At the very least she didn't try to twist it like the guy was a piece of shit or the girl was like this supreme better option. She went into a worse relationship. Something unstable. Something that could easily snap.

I don't like the story written here but it's partially because it's also painfully realistic in many regards. Someone choosing essentially an emotionally abusive relationship over something stable and healthy because they can't see it for what it is. Heartbreaking.

You know what, if this was the express intent of the manga, and it wasn't just rushed to a weird end, I would actually respect it. "Here's a depressingly realistic and not uncommon story of how people treat each other poorly and make bad decisions. But now you get to examine such a situation from the outside and understand the major players and motivations."

It would have much more merit and value, this way -- an object lesson and a way to understand those involved a little better.

I hope this to be the case.

Oh damn, where have I seen this kind of art style before?!

I think it was even on this site, but I can't recall where...

Update:

I just realized why it has the "Official" tag, I think: this translation is probably done by, or with the express approval of, the artist. It's not that this is an official manga for a series, but rather an officially sanctioned English version.

Which is also pretty cool!

The art style still has me wondering, though. It's very atypical for (Japanese) manga, and the artist's name is about as non-Japanese as it gets (even taking into account the usual types of pen names!). But it sure looks like it's set in Japan, so ...who knows?

I'm pretty sure they aren't Japanese though; probably some flavor of SEA if I had to guess. Thai or Indonesian, if you put a gun to my head. If they are Japanese, they are a massive westaboo, because there's very little reason for anyone in that country to be familiar with all those little references and phrasing things the way they do.

Also I'm reasonably sure Patreon is accepted in Japan. Technically yes, but it's tricky to deal with, apparently?

I'm real curious to see how this last chapter goes.

I don't think I'm going to be happy about anything that happens in it, but I'm still curious.

Weird thought, and if someone already pitched this, I apologize, but:

I wonder if you could use this manga as kind of a canary for getting a sense of certain flaws in someone's character or personality. Sorta like recommending Mouthwashing to someone, and after they finish it, they come back with "That Jimmy guy might've slipped up here and there, but at least he fixed things in the end."

But here, see if they think this was a really beautiful love story and they're so glad Hikaru realized how wrong she was to be upset.

Insane theory:

Mystery girl was Atsushi, who was actually a trans and/or a trap, but loved Ayako so much as to go back to dressing like a guy again just to actually appeal to her.

Which is fucked-up and very self-deluding, but if there's any manga more about fucked up relationships and deluding yourself into making questionable choices, it's this one.

...Okay, now that I write that, I suppose OreImo qualifies too (Kuroneko got robbed.). But you know what I mean.
