Seems like mc is actually gonna be alil yandere and kinda lives in her own reality . Not 100 percent sure just from chapter one she'll be a reliable narrator.

Well, she definitely doesn't have her priorities straight, I think it's safe to say to say at least that much.

With how the guy looked when Nina asked and how senpai looked when she said this, to me, it REALLY feels like they're both exes and when they split senpai still had lingering feelings

Or they're FWB or in a situationship kinda deal

Anyways, just based on vibes... this one's gonna hurt. It also doesn't come off to me that Nina realizes the depth of her feelings.

She calls it admiration in her dialogue and she's like "I wub her" in a playful manner (that's how I read it) and I feel like "admired" and "loved" are very two different things, and if she was aware at this point her feelings were that of love, she'd have said so instead of saying "admired", no?

And with the first page + title, I wonder if it's hinting at the fact that Nina will eventually get obsessed with her senpai, hence wishing it was "just love" or she's wishing she could've just loved her and had her feelings end right there instead of feeling possessive, envious, heartbroken etc all the difficult feelings that come with being in love with someone?

I genuinely feel like it's safe to say this line at the bottom of the page is foreshadowing, right?? Maybe I'm waay off base here tho, idk

The first page is a future perspective it seems? Like, it takes place after she realizes her feelings go beyond just love, cuz a few pages later the feelings go from "love" to "admired"

That being said, I feel like Yuri crush wouldve been more fitting buut at the same time, I'm fine with the subtext tag until we reach the chapter where Nina is like "oh wow, I think I'm in love with her"

Good! I prefer when these types of narratives don’t drag on and simply explode and then reach the conclusion, like After the Rain, the Sun, the Flower Shines.

On Baka Updates the Series title is translated as "If only it had been love" so not sure about the obsession thing. But I could see it go down the route where she believes it can't be love, because it's a girl. I really don't know what to expect of this series.

Good thing she came to her senses. For me, scorning a rock girl for looking like a rock girl would be a big strike against continuing this, even if it's short. But now let's see into what kind of mess this devolves.

So it looks like Senpai leaned into the rock girl lifestyle and got herself a sex friend with Mr. Nice Guy? They arrived together, leave their stuff in each other's places, sit close together...Doesn't feel like they are exes.

And I get the "bad girls are hot" angle, but smoking makes you and your clothes, even your walls smell like an old ashtray, turns your fingernails and teeth yellow...I can never see the appeal in that.

Your “they might be exes” point makes sense, but from how I see it, your 'they might actually be FWB' point makes more sense to me. It seems like the senpai has feelings for the guy, but he doesn’t feel the same and might just be using her, benefiting from her feelings. For example, when he mentioned he forgot his cigarettes at her place and that they needed to go back to her place, it felt a bit convenient. Also, when he was asked whether they were dating, he was very quick to brush it off.
