Junko's expression on page 21 was incredible. Sakakibara is a real one though, covering for Kayo. Feels weird having such a decent character in this series.

Yay, it's back! I love these two toxic ladies. They're just the absolute worst, in the absolute best way.

I thought this was licensed.

It is. I have no idea what Seven Seas is doing, though. The series ended in Japan back in the spring, and while the first English volume came out last year, there was no word on any further volumes until a few weeks back when they updated their site indicating volume 2 is coming out in July of next year, with no word on volume 3 still. I own volume 1, and I'll be grabbing the others whenever they finally release, but the wait has been kind of ridiculous even by normal localization standards. Though at least this is actually getting volume releases, unlike Sal Jiang's other series that's stuck as an exclusive to the Mangaplaza app.

Thanks to the scanlators for bringing us the series while Seven Seas is busy doing who-knows-what!

That was awesome. What a great opener.

That cover page is so good, holy cow.

So Uda did end up confessing, and it went over Riri's head (ironic, since she's so much taller). Went more or less how I expected. I'm curious how next chapter is going to go; I'm assuming it'll wrap up this storyline. I've enjoyed this arc, but I'm definitely itching for a fresh chapter of Mashiro and Nagi being cute together (maybe a white day chapter?) to balance out the recent angst.

Aaaaaangst chapter. I do feel for Hirose. I get the impression she didn't really understand her feelings for Takamine until after Takamine had found Sakura (and maybe she still doesn't). I also appreciate that she isn't doing the classic love triangle move of constantly trying to sabotage the others; she's just content to angst away in her corner. Hopefully she can find a way towards happiness soon. I'm kind of hoping next chapter Sakura catches up to her with her umbrella and they have a heart-to-heart.

And Hinata with the A+ assist, inviting Sakura to the study session! Now I'm curious what they talk about over Line...

Now that I think of it, I can't think of another series that has that family dynamic (besides maybe I'm in Love with the Villainess)? Unless someone has recommendations?

She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat has some pretty strong found family themes, especially in the latest English volume.

I am sure that last panel will lead to lots of very reasonable discussion here.

I've really been enjoying this series so far. I think the big thing that makes it work for me (aside from the totally adorable art style) is how Ami is just totally shameless. She's putting Rei through an emotional rollercoaster, and making no secret that she's doing it, and that she enjoys doing it. There's something about a character being so brazenly sleazy, rather than secretly sleazy, that just causes it to wrap back around to being weirdly charming to me.

Holy cow, the hairpin note. I never noticed that they always stand together in a specific order; that's such a great detail.

Silly me, i forgot to post what i came for in the first place.
I'm looking for that delicious typical contrast of yuri with a "plain girl" and a "flashy girl".

There's a manhwa called "Partition" that's this; it's really good IMO, but doesn't seem to be very well known. Though the translation is a bit shaky for the first few chapters.

The two leads are a short, outgoing woman who is really fashionable and constantly acts super sweet and cutesy, but who's real personality is blunt and crude, and a tall, super shy, gloomy woman who secretly likes cute things. There's a bit of drama, but nothing heavy, and it never drags, and there's plenty of cute slice-of-life scenes interspersed.

Hooray, a new chapter! School trip arc! Though damn Umi, just straight up inviting Segawa to sleep with her. XD

Also, super appreciate the translation notes! They're cool, especially for a travel arc like this one.

I'm definitely in the camp of hoping Uda and Riri don't immediately get together next chapter, though I do actually like both of them, especially Uda. I also think it's inevitable they wind up together: they're set up as opposites of each other in many ways, and as such, the laws of romance fiction dictate that they're destined to be together.

And hopefully after all this settles down, the next arc will see us finally learning the identity of that audience member that was highlighted back in chapter 24.

One of my favorite things about this series is how Asako is pretty much completely out and it's not a big deal. That conversation between Miyako and Asako's dad was super sweet, and I laughed at the bit with Asako's album.

I was a worried about Miyako's parents when she started talking about how "serious" they were, but it seems like the issue is that she's worried about not being "ordinary" due to being an ex-idol, which is kind of a wholesome reason to be anxious.

saw it a lot on TikTok, it's basically this "normal" looking girl and her pretty childhood friend that moved away but came back at around high school, normal looking girl is scared that her old childhood friend has turned into a gyaru but she's actually still the same but just now a pretty gyaru. I can't find the title anywhere I feel like I'm going crazy

It's probably Childhood Friend, Big Love

though it could also be Futari Monologue

Takamine is so smooth. And pretty cute, with how disappointed she was not being able to see Sakura in her normal clothes.

Now let's just hope she hasn't caught the dreaded cold, or if she has, we at least get a chapter of Sakura visiting her.

Oh wow, I'm really liking this. Ami is awful, but I love it; I find this dynamic really entertaining.

I wonder how long before Rei realizes she's seeing a part of Ami that she doesn't show anyone else.

Been thinking about this more than I probably should, and what I find most frustrating about the writing of this arc, aside from Yamada not standing up for herself, is that ultimately the consequences of this whole thing are so skewed. This whole conflict is entirely of Kase's making, and she is the one with all the agency in resolving it. Yet it's Yamada that has the most to lose, and bears the burden if Kase were to fail, and that just feels awful.

If Kase loses and has to stay in the dorm, all she misses out on is not having Yamada to wake up next to every morning (a loss to be sure, but let's be real: it's pretty low stakes). Yamada on the other hand has been working extra shifts at her job for months to save up. She's been spending loads of time shopping for apartments, and running herself ragged in the process; all effort that would go to waste if Kase loses. She's the one who has been planning to move in for months, and has been actively working towards this goal while Kase does nothing. And let's not forget that she ran a real risk of being homeless if she hadn't been able find another apartment after losing the first one, or if Kase wasn't going to be around to split the rent.

And this is just made worse by the fact that it's Yamada who we constantly see struggling. We see barely any of Kase's training, and she always seems to be not serious the few times we do. This arc would have felt a whole lot better if instead of constantly having to see Yamada be the victim of Kase's stupidity, we had instead seen more of Kase struggling and having to overcome adversity. As it is now, it feels like we're supposed to swoon at how cool "serious mode" Kase is, and how she comes through for Yamada, but it's totally undermined by the fact that what she's rescuing Yamada from is a problem entirely of her own making.

Thank god this arc is finally over. Seems fitting that such a terrible arc ends on such an anti-climax too. Kase wins easily, Yamada can't even be there to cheer her on, and we don't see Kase telling Fukami the real reason she's moving out. What terrible writing from start to finish.

Hopefully we get a bunch of cute moments of them living together to make up for it. I'm also hoping they go back and show Kase telling Fukami the truth at some point, because then at least this arc would have resulted in something happening.

The end is nigh!

Aw, that's a shame. I could have continued watching the pair's slice of life hijinks for good while more.

When Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon ended, this was already running, so they certainly deserve a bit of a break, lol. Afaik Shio Usui doesn't have another work lined up yet, but hopefully it won't be too long a wait. I really like their style.

So Riri’s still not leaving Nanjou alone. Geez, give her a break already. Seems like Nanjou’s been smitten since first sight though.

Is it yet another attempt? I thought we went back to show it from prez's perspective. I mean I hope it is because I'd rather have Riri get the point instead of trying yet again.

Phone says it's February 15th, so the day after Valentines. Unless prez just left the notification up for some reason, it certainly seems like Riri is continuing to press.

I usually don't ask for recommendations but i'm going to try it a couple time for now.
I just finished Model & Manager-san, Anyone got a yuri manga with this kind of dynamic? where one of the character is kinda being pampered by the other (or they mutually does it to each other). Like how Yuria likes being praised by Okabe when she does a good job and is a little clingy, and Okabe is kinda taking care of her.
I'm not mad about nsfw elements if they fit but preferably i'm looking for this kind of calm wholesome pace.

She Loves to Cook, and She Loves to Eat - a woman who enjoys cooking, but has a tiny appetite, gets to know her neighbor, a large woman with a physically demanding job and the appetite to match, and starts regularly cooking her huge meals. Super sweet and funny, and one of my favorite releases of last year. Also got a live-action adaptation by NHK, that is actually really good.

After the Curtain Call - a manhwa about a massive theater geek supporting her favorite small theater actress.

Monthly in the Garden With My Landlord - Asako can't help herself from taking care of Miyako, a former idol who's now her too carefree landlord.

I’m loving this series so far, but I am worried about the pacing after hearing that there are over a hundred chapters

I hope they get together and the story continues on and that’s why there are so many chapters

Yeah, I'm kinda shocked to hear that there's over 100 chapters too. There aren't that many volumes out yet (two so far, with the third releasing soon) so I never would have thought there were so many chapters.

I'm kind of wondering if it will take a similar path as Kiss and White Lily for my Dearest Girl where there's a bunch of couples that take turns getting the spotlight. Because yeah, as much as I'm enjoying this so far, I'm not really sure how they'd keep things interesting over 100 chapters without some major developments.

I gotta agree with many of the other commenters here: this chapter just felt really off to me. Going back and re-reading the first chapter, Lillian wasn't as bad as I was remembering, but I was still having a hard time squaring away her thought process this chapter. Her whole "plan" just seems really half-baked and unnecessarily mean, and even if she wasn't some evil villain, Evris still assumed she had betrayed her, and that was pretty much completely glossed over?

I thought the initial premise was solid, and I like what they seem to be going for this chapter with the whole "Evris doesn't need saving, she needs support and someone who believes in her" theme. Plus I'm just generally a sucker for villainess tropes. But I'm still not really feeling this so far; hopefully it turns around.

Really good first chapter. It being so long really helps to establish the feelings between the main couple better than a lot of romcoms manage. I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes.

On an unrelated note, for as pretty as most of this chapter was, I couldn't help but think on this page that the pair looked like a couple of aliens XD. I think it's the glossiness of their eyes.
