17 chapters onward, I still do not understand what so disgusting about female figurines. All those model builders also build female figurines or magical girls or super heroines. Even I own a few Five Star Stories fatima figurines (pre-built). I never think of them as disgusting, or my collection is disgusting. I certainly did not fall in love with these figurines. They are just art.

It's the fact that Remu gets off on figurines that is "disgusting". She's a doll-licker.

But did she reveal to others that she gets off on them as opposed to just like them? She just showed her "friend" the figurines, and the friend automatically thinks of her as disgusting. Remu did not say anything lewd.

I'd admire ANYONE who can create a figurine using her own body as a model.

I really love how Remu responded here. Like fundamentally this story is about girls with different kinds of wants that are “disgusting” in different ways, and about seeing through what may seem repulsive on the surface to what’s going on inside. It’s about learning to think past your disgust. And critically, this extends to all 4 of the main cast members. Not just the sexual disgust of the main two, but the moral disgust of the girls we could call antagonists. There’s this ugly desire in us to want to see these people punished for doing wrong by the main pair, and the manga is asking us to take that same measured generosity to them as well. We’re not expected to just let it slide—in both cases, we see very clearly how the things they do are wrong, and the most heroic moments of the story are the main characters defending their space, setting boundaries, and critiquing that behavior—but it also doesn’t settle for the self-indulgent route of emotional vigilantism, of punishing what one receives as wickedness, but is in fact disfunction. Instead we are shown that these people have disgusting impulses inside them that come from very understandable places, that hurt them as they hurt others, and that that is a very human thing that doesn’t discount their humanity, or make them unworthy of love. In a society preoccupied with cutting away impurity, it’s a profound and deeply important act of compassion to accept the ugly and diffcult parts of oneself and of others. And that’s the virtue that Remu is displaying here: whether or not Niji can successfully take the hand that is being offered is up to her. It’s really beautiful.

I did like the callback to "Remu is right here" from Niji's thought after commenter said no one like story Remu could exist. The implication to me is that the person Niji fell in love with was real. This is the Remu who was kind to Niji at school and didn't judge Niji, despite Niji's poor reputation and social status. Niji just got carried away with her fantasies at some point and stopped listening to the real Remu, who is still there to support her.

Connecting with the real Remu means letting go of the fantasy image in Niji's head. No matter what happens, there will be a sense of loss and grief for Niji. However, because of Remu, there is still a path to deeper understanding and friendship that can grow from it. Creating that opportunity for Niji is the most anyone in Remu's situation could do.

Niji san got slapped o.o...
If only Niji san could differentiate between reality and her fantasies.
Niji san has finally realized that Remu san isn't the Remu san she thinks she knows. Glad to know about this.
I think she starts having her sense back.
Niji san will be all right, I hope.

-Breaks your promise
-Writes deluded fan-fiction about you
-Coldly rejects your hobby

And Remu STILL wants to talk to her? She must be an angel.

By the way, you might be right about Remu!
Usually, the standard protocol would be Remu san feeling an absolute distrust and uncomfortable about Niji san's fantasies on her, especially after knowing she is the point of reference to her stories. The 'normal' Remu san would have turn away from this friendship, and especially knowing that the stories have been read by many, if the readers or students from the school happen to know she is the subject, then she might ends up getting ridiculed by it (or so I assume that's how the setting is)-- And unfortunately that's how bullying starts :c

Though since Remu san has her deepest secret known by Niji san..in this case
Remu san understood Niji san. That's Niji san's 'deepest secret' too. It's surprising that Niji san confesses her fantasies to Remu san by showing her her dark secret about writing fantasy stories about them

Rip Niji. She is too far gone. Girl is full delulu.

Though we see her going back to her room and thought of how to write the continuation of the stories, she actually reluctant and having flashbacks about her relationship with Remu san, so she does show some signs that she's snapped and that she's coming back to her senses..She's not entirely delulu

Fuck Niji, therapy is the only option for her if not a mental institution

The other three are fine and I hope they engage in their disgusting "love" together!

Wow that was quite unsatisfying... Can't believe Meguru and Azuki just got back together so easily, and Remu is just happy to be a friend only of Azuki.

This ending felt weird. It felt like characterizations and relationships flipped on a dime. Not sure what this was. Even if you have to end earlier than expected, this isn't the way to do it.

Yeah, this was messy. Remu was not ok with Azuki going back to her sister before; there was a tension there that can't just be hand-waved away like that. Feels like the ending to a different manga. I don't want to be mean or ruin anyone's yum, but I'm genuinely confused. Don't think I'll be reading this one again.

I'm about half and half on the ending. I quite like Meguru and Azuki's resolution. A big part of the story was them mending their relationship and getting through their issues so it's good to see that they managed to rebuild that bridge burned.

Remu... Niji ended up being one entire step above the "disgusting" love's the other three were throwing around so to end the story here after a confrontation but before we actually see anything mended if that's even truly possible. So while Remu got through her issues with Meguru's help it does feel like she's stuck with Niji. (a fight doesn't really cover what Niji did after all)

I get that a lot of people were rooting for Remu to get with Azuki considering they've been on the same wavelength througout the story but honestly, Azuki has so obviously only ever looked at Meguru that way to the point she even became "disgusting" in the first place. And hey I really liked Meguru so for me this is a win.

you know what, I'm three quarters on the ending, I like Meguru and Azuki's resolution and I like how Remu resolved her issues. I don't think Niji quite hit the landing, or at the very least it was bumpy.

Could have been worse. Really wish there were one more volume so the mangaka didn't have to speed through the conclusion. Niji got the short end of the stick for sure.

I think what kind of irks me is not even the ending itself, it's really the fact that Meguru seemingly just decided one day that she'll stop being weird, which kind of just resolved everything after that. From this point on the manga unraveled like a ball of yarn and that was it.

Hmm, dare I call this ending rushed? It definitely felt rushed to me, but I can’t fully put into words why. They made up, shared a kiss, opened up to each other and now Remu and Azuki are finally able to talk about their hobby openly and out loud without shame, even admitting it’s “disgusting”jokingly. But this chapter felt more like notes for the story rather than the actual ending itself. Like Shio-sensei had all the scenes she wanted to draw written down in bullet points on a notepad and then just drew them out as is, but there are still some parts missing or moments that weren’t explored in enough depth.

Overall great manga but plain ending chapter

one half happy endings ain't so bad. I am a little surprised Azuki and Meguru got back together, I honestly thought it was going to be Azuki and Remu.

I actually really really like Remu and Azuki as pervert-friends rather than being obligated to be lovers through their hobby/the initial setup, but Remu did still kinda get the short end of the stick (and Niji got no stick at all).

I think what kind of irks me is not even the ending itself, it's really the fact that Meguru seemingly just decided one day that she'll stop being weird, which kind of just resolved everything after that. From this point on the manga unraveled like a ball of yarn and that was it.

I think Meguru just needed the push via perspective from seeing how Remu and Azuki were suffering through her inadvertent actions and once she knew about them, she could unravel that yarn knot on her own.

I'm hoping we'll see Niji's side of things resolved in a healthy direction, even if she and Remu don't end up dating.

Ushio Shio = happy ending. Not particularly outstanding work of hers, but nevertheless is always fun and cute.

I'll weigh in favoring the ending. Letting Remu stay and objectophile whilst Azuki patches things up with her long-lost love works for the characters. Niji's issues didn't get resolved, but that basically needs its own series. Meguru just needed to confront why she was blocking herself from wanting a sexual relationship to patch it up with Azuki, whereas Niji is more fundamentally struggling with reality.

Absolutely iconic. Proof of letting your delulu become trululu.

The end felt only a tad bit rushed. I enjoyed are pervert friends staying pervert friends than having to be romantic. Especially since Remu's whole thing is about being more attracted to dolls than people. I see her as more possessive toward Azuki than romantically jealous when she tried to stop her from seeing Meguru.

Meguru is who i was disappointed with the most. I feel I've seen the "saw my dad/parent cheat so now i can't have a relationship" too many times i can't enjoy it anymore. Is that a thing somehow irl. I feel when i hear or see someone go through this it's their parents they have an avoidant or hatsh relationship with than their dating life.

Anyway, i like the ending. I hope we get extras and thanks for the translation!
