Yuuuuuuup. There was also that bit last chapter where she was talking to an imaginary Kaede seemingly aloud, and at the end looked surprised to remember Kaede wasn't actually there. And that scene transition to the strangling is just weirdly abrupt in a way that feels like Ai having a disorganized perception of time. The girl's not well.

Okay at first I was shocked, but then I remembered they did promise to do a suicide pact together if one left the other..... I guess we know for sure she truly does care for Ai in her own weird fucked up and extremely unhealthy way and wasn't just purely using her. Tbh this makes me curious about Kaede and her husband's relationship even more, like I don't get it, he didn't seem like a bad person but we didn't get much on him, was that just Kaede's version of trying to achieve normalcy? And now what, is she actually going to take her own life or just use this to make Ai feel guilt and anxiety so she won't leave? Surely this doesn't end in a tragedy right?

If you re-read the first few chapters, you'll see that Kaede did prey on Ai. She is a predator, using any mean she see fit to catch her prey.

That chapter was pretty good. I'm glad to see that Ai is, at least for now, staying faithful to Kon. I know lots of people are blaming her for leaving Kon behind, but not getting closure in a relationship that was very important can haunt you up for decades... I do hope she see through Kaede's manipulation and calls her on her bullshit, but the poor girl is only 20, and is dealing with a crazy woman whom she was deeply in love with... Not the best combination to take the best decision.
