I don't know how to feel about this start.
GB Yuri very much feels like it splits into two categories, one where it's basically just tgirl yuri but with magical genderbend where a lot of focus is put on the genderbend itself and how the new girl feels about her life now alongside her new relationships.

The other is "I'm basically going to just write a man and very heteronormative male/female relationship with the GB as just a setup for the rest while not thinking about the implications but handwave it with genderbend" and I am not really sure which way this one is leaning and that's a LITTLE concerning, I'm saying this from the perspective of a tgirl myself so I could just be being paranoid but eh I've encountered the later too much and it's made me wary of it lately.

You can trust the Skye (the TL) to pick quality genderbend stuff, she knows what she's doing there :)

Oh, this looks to not be one of those "I am inexplicably weaker now because GENDER ROLES" stories, since Yuuri just scooped up Kyouko like it was nothing. Neat, I always hate it when the muscle mass differences between men and women get exaggerated.

I love gender bender yuri.
It has flaws in few ways but it is cute, and I love it.
Hope we do not have to wait a year for the next chapter :)

Could very well turn into "later, after she learned he was actually a boy, she eventually recovered from her androphobia because #notallmen, so he turned back into a boy and they lived happily ever after and had several children."

Ngl, it’s a strange choice to have brown hair be depicted with white. If it weren’t for the cover I’d assume the mc was blonde.

Really hope this doesn't end with the MC turning back into a boy and "curing" Kyouko of her androphobia to start a het romance.

If it does end with Yuuri embracing their new identity as a woman and Kyouko being gay... then inject this straight into my veins

I kind of share the fears, that this series will turn out to be a trojan horse situation. Where the gender bending is just a plot device to allow Yuuri to help "cure" Kyouko of her hatred of men.

The raw has a yuri tag and the author's Twitter is full of yuri stuff. I don't think there's any cause to worry this will end het.

I am here to reassure you guys that this manga, in fact, has a yuri ending. I've read all 4 volumes to the end.

Oh, okay that’s great to hear! I remember reading a gender-bender yuri once where the male lead turned into a girl and developed a crush on another girl. But then his childhood best friend, who’s a guy, also had feelings for him, and it ended up turning into more of a het/yaoi story. So I’m really glad to hear this one will likely stay yuri. :)

This kind of gender bender is always a bit puzzling. If the "turned-into-a-girl" character falls for a guy, is it het or yaoi? And if they fall for a girl, is it het or yuri?

Since the character retains their initial gender identity, then they're for all intent and purpose, a pre-op trans person, so in this particular case, this story is pure het.

And if you consider it yuri, this runs contrary to the belief that "gender isn't tied to the body".

So, in the end, it's not "yuri", "het" or "yaoi", it's just a love story between two people, regardless of gender or body.

It is yuri in my book bc the initial mentality of the mc is fitting for both women and men so in the end whats left of importance is that physically both are women.

Um no? The genderbent MC acts exactly how a typical (shoujo manga) guy would. All protective, princess carry included.

MC is pretty much a guy inside, so it's pseudo-yuri.

MC is pretty much a guy inside, so it's pseudo-yuri.

Women are capable of being protective too. And the MC is far less proactive and forward than the typical shoujo male lead.
