While it’s cliche to add a love triangle, I love how much the new antagonist is actually a “Green Tea Bitch.” Seeing her parallel to the actually sweet and pure Tongtong is so poetic given the premise and title of the story

Honestly I don't know where people see the mix signal here, it's quite clear that Luxi cut her off because she was toxic af and only treated Luxi like a lackey without actually caring about her feeling.

Ofc she can secretly be bi, but that would require her to have more time with Luxi which I honestly think is quite difficult considering they are not in the same Uni and Luxi can't stand breathing the same air as her.

The only way this can happen is Luxi is down bad enough that she tries to use Baiyan to rile up TongTong to get her dominant side out..

Or maybe Baiyan actually blackmails Luxi because she already knows they are a real couple. That would be a surprising title drop for sure.

Damn Bai Yan is a great character. Don't get me wrong, she's awful, nasty and extremely hateable, but in a really realistic way. Gotta hand it to Xian Jun for writing such a believably horrible character.

Too many times on this site there's awful characters but it's all explained away too nicely or they're secretly sympathetic or just unrealistically evil. Here; nah. She's awful and selfish and manipulative in a way I can understand.

No. Chapter 40 page 7 she compares Luxi favorably to her male romantic prospects. Then on page 1 and 2 of chapter 41 She thinks about how she pushed Luxi away by dating a guy and reiterates that she would be a better partner than the dumb men she usually manipulates.

My guess is that she was bullying Luxi in middle school by making her act as her servant (and it was the kind of bullying where you pretend to be friends and sort of are but it's still toxic), which Luxi eagerly went along with for the same reason she played along with Tong Tong's blackmail all the way back at the start of the story. Bai Yan got freaked out when she learned Luxi had feelings for her so she called her gross and started dating a guy, breaking off contact. Eventually, she realized that Luxi was more attentive and obsessed with her than anyone else and she started thinking that maybe the whole lesbian thing wasn't such a deal breaker after all.

I'm loving Bai Yan so far, she's great. Her meathead minion is fucking things up for her. Too aggressive too fast. Her best move from here would be telling him off. Reiterate that it's Luxi's choice, then give her a really sad sort of rueful look.

Right—I’m ten times more interested in how Xiao-Lu’s going to let her kink-flag fly than in what happens with Shithead-chan, and the kink thing itself could be solved (as I said) with a “Kink for Beginners” pamphlet.

(Getting TongTong to believably role-play dominance/pain on her darling duckling may well be a harder lift, but all that remains to be seen.)

I agree, but at this point it's not about them two anymore. By asking in front of everyone, Bai Yang manipulated Tong Tong's new friends into applying peer pressure. Now if Xiao Lu flat out refuses, she's gonna leave a bad impression, and Tong Tong might have trouble fitting in with her new class.

I hate these mind games.

People register it as iffy but can't pin it down as something to really tell somebody off about. Xiao Lu did a great job handling it. And the apology in public... Very well done really. I really wonder if Xiao Lu can go through with outright rejecting her, most people would fold, but I would find it out of character for her... This is a really defining moment, whether she folds tactically or risks alienating tong tong's new crowd.

I agree with what people are saying, it’s definitely really common for characters like her to be The Despicable Bitch who is just inherently evil and serves as a lightning rod for the audience’s negativity, and I have read a lot of manhua that use that archetype, so it’s really cool to see that so far, Bai Yan comes across more as A Type Of Person I’ve actually met before. She’s not supernaturally gifted at manipulating situations and unrealistically hateful toward the MC, she’s a selfish and messy person who is manipulative and wants something from the MCs and makes it their problem.

I thought she’d show up and just be a drama extender to print more chapters bc ive seen that so often, but I really should’ve given this author credit. I love how tongtong and luxi push back against her shit and are realistically wary of her, instead of just instantly believing her and getting thrown into drama for the sake of the plot. Having an actual green tea bitch in the green tea bitch manga is kinda elite.

Also, not unlike luxi herself, I really want tongtong to claim her girl in front of bai yan. God bless.
