Aside from the change of relationship between Diana and the prince, which doesn't have any progress of romance, the story still implies that, there will be someone or something that will come up to stop Natori san from altering the storyline and goes back to track.
With these hints, I assume that at the end of this adventure, Natori san couldn't do anything to help change Lapis sama's fate to escape death in the game, and that Lapis sama will still be the villian of the game.

Though, whether or not Diana san and the prince will have a romance blossom is still in question..

And so, if Lapis sama's death is impossible to escape, I wish the ending will be where Natori san goes back to her world and meet the reborn Lapis sama in her world (___ )..
as if that's what the mangaka intends to do >_> ...

I love 1 on 1 romance and very rarely prefer poly, but this manga is just begging for a poly ending. I'll eat my shoe if it doesn't end in poly.

I wouldn't be so sure about any of this, not after it went all the way to try to turn the heroine into the villain instead. At this point, anything is possible.

Good to see the translation for this series back, I've missed it dearly.

I'm glad that Rubeus got his just desserts and got outplayed by a more cunning and ruthless adversary, I really hate smug back-stabbing villains.

I still disagree about this heading or even needing a poly ending though, Lapis' route is more than set in stone and this chapter only proved it further, Lapis trusting Natori for such an important task only made the woman even more infatuated on our villainess.

Lady Lapis more than anything resembles Herrscher of the Void from Honkai Impact 3rd, that crown is like almost 1:1, as is the personality.

I wouldn't know about that. I was purely thinking in terms of physical traits.

They do have a passing resemblance, yeah. But I chalk that to Shizuma and Nagisa being the most known examples of those character archetypes.

the expressions in this chapter were so good. the pain and joy are so complex and operatic. every character and every feeling is so haunted by contradictory passion. truly, yuri is about being haunted by emotions. and this is the spookiest of them all. i can feel myself sinking in the yuri swamp rn

Just my thoughts in the comment. I've already had thoughts about this but with the latest update it feels more concrete, but I think the radical anti-noble faction killed Lapis's noble half sister and Lapis is Aurora. After the death of her sister, the family forced Aurora to become Lapis in her stead. In Chapter 10, Lapis says "My entire existence is just an act" and it truly is. In Chapter 1 page 28, in the story of the game, when Lapis and Diana are fighting she says, "That thing died a long time ago" signifying that she hates herself and has been been feeling guilty about the real Lapis's death. At the end of Chapter 4, Lapis says, "I am Lapis Tenebrae" to remind herself her role and her plan to get revenge. I don't know how the revenge plays out but with Vino's ability to read minds and how disturbed he is with Lapis's plan, it tells me that it is dark, deep, and extremely calculative to the point he wouldnt want to be on the bad side of Lapis. In the game, Vino sided with Diana possibly in hopes to save Lapis in his own way. And the reason why Lapis is so surprised about Natori's "foreseeing" power and wanted Natori to become hers is because it can be seen as being one step closer to her dead sister.

Unlike Natori, Diana and Lapis are too pure to consider an OT3 ending, therefore they've had a serious talk about the relationship between the three of them. Because Lapis has been sending mixed messages and because Diana is a sweetheart, she was ready to suffer a heartbreak gracefully for their sake. However, Lapis still has her head full of silly little ideas like classicide, therefore she plans to break up with Natori to protect her from the consequences of Lapis' future actions. Furthermore, because of what they've all just went through, she cannot lie to Diana anymore. Diana was able to bow out as long as she believed that Lapis x Natori was a done deal, but when Lapis effectively refused to confirm it, she could no longer suppress her feelings and effectively declared her rivalry to her over Natori's heart.

That said, I am pretty optimistic about this rivalry now: even if it doesn't end up in an OT3, Lapis and Diana like and respect each other now, so their rivalry will likely result in more wacky hijinx than tragedy. Of course, nobody can predict the future, least of all random forum posters, so everything may go bad yet, but Neko Tarou's previous stories give me hope.
