omg didn't expect this is made by neko tarou, is this an original manga? I thought this came from a novel base from the title itself. damn I'm liking the story so far.

OOO, interesting. I didn't catch that. Im both excited and worried. On one hand Catullus Syndrome was well drawn and a fun read, but on the other I wasn't a huge fan of the ending. Guess we'll see how this goes, but so far I'm super into this, excited to finally see a chapter 2.

it's all certainly interesting because it's so obvious from the start that Lapis has gone through some traumatic event in her childhood that makes her view commoners with as much derision as she does. Especially when she's shown to be fully capable of seeing Natori a commoner from another world as a perfectly capable person who can be just as skilled and classy as nobles are. But somehow there is a mental block here that stops her from connecting those dots that makes her view the commoners of her world as barbaric nonetheless.

It's also a great set-up because like someone who does bad things out of trauma does not just have a "get out of jail free card". Regardless of your reasons if you do something horrible you're at fault for it, And Lapis here very much seems to be on track of doing exactly that. Committing to something truly horrible out of trauma, with Natori here to change the story by giving Lapis some much needed care and affection.

Neko Tarou’s art is phenomenal (battle, summoning, Lapis’ eyes).
I am strongly reminded of Shizuma, of Strawberry Panic fame, when looking at lady Lapis. Even the “footwork” (remember the “Aishiteruyo” in the last episode: Shizuma heels clacking on the church’s floor?) is there.
Not that I’ll complain, she’s gorgeous. And the little office lady is charming too.
I hope the protagonists will evolve in complexity and distort the isekai/school of magic/nobles vs commoners usual tropes.

lmao whose idea was it to have these teenagers fight with such powerful and dangerous magic?

It's probably fine between people and beasts with magic, and probably fine if the completely unprotected office lady doesn't leave her protection circle

It's like tanks shooting at each other with light machine gun tracers but some idiot running between the tanks

HAHAHAHAHAHA, It's hilarious that you phrase it that way LMFAO

And Demon Dragon-senpai will be missed.

Lapis is serving LOOKS! As a self-diagnosed Villainess Stan Trash Lesbian, she is right in my strike-zone. That displeased expression is like ASMR for my brain.

Don't see how those contradict. She doesn't view the peasantry as intrinisically inferior, she says herself that they are "barbaric, selfish and easily angered" due to their lack of education. She just doesn't have any reason to give a damn about their welfare, especially considering there is anti-noble unrest among the common folk. She quite clearly makes a distinction between the unwashed masses and specialist craftsmen, such as the ones making magic jewelry.

So, here's my guess based on the two chapters we have so far.

Lapis's younger sister was killed … by another commoner, and Lapis actually feels guilty for failing to protect her. The whole commoners being uncivilized attitude is something she adopted to deal with her pain, and so that she doesn't have to examine the actual situation too closely. After all, if commoners are ignorant and quick to anger, then something like this was probably unavoidable, nothing she could do.

As to why a commoner would kill her sister. In my experience (having grown up working class in a country where the class divide is still very much alive no matter what people say), enforcing the class divide can come from the bottom as well as the top. Working class people can get very annoyed by other working class people that have ideas and aspirations "above their station", and will starting talking about people getting "too big for their britches". Or I'm thinking to deeply and the killer was motivated by simple jealousy.

Darth Tenebrae has changed from canon. I wouldn't mind favoring this villainess, as being lawful good has done me little.

Ah yes, I just wanted to read a Stockholm syndrome [job edition] manga after being stressed by my job.
Yup, definitely a great idea.

Looking good so far. OL x Villainess Yuri Isekai with great art so far. Shame the release schedule is so long for each chapter.

I'm liking this story so far.

My take on this, specially from chapter 2, is that her sister died and her cause of death most likely has something to do about her being a commoner. Lapis' revenge on society would then be something like becoming a villainess, oppressing a symbol of the commoners forcing them to fight back and cause a revolution. Or something idk its just my guess so don't take my word for it.

I like how this one leans just a bit more into the villainess actually being villainous. I almost always love all these villainess stories tbh, but I am well interested in this one.

Or the commoners just killed her sister out of jealousy and she deeply dislikes them because they have the you were born privileged card next the your parents did this but it's okay as long it's us.

The pawn did move out of its way though, that's clearly their e-pawn they moved to e4. Presumably white moved their bishop to b5 before retreating to a4 after black moved their pawn to a6. I have no defense for the knight placement though.
