Love how mature Mai was in handling that confrontation then to see how much it effected her afterwords to the point she needed to see Onee-san in person to feel better, shows how deeply she cares for her.

Not gonna lie but the bratty girl is kinda adorable with her outfit, I just love it.

"bratty stalker-chan" wouldn't be a stalker if she wasn't a rival for Mai-chan. I am leaning even harder in the direction of Mai and Tae running away to be together.

I wonder what the point of a character like Houjou is. Obviously it's going to end up with all of them getting along, with Houjou possibly developing a crush on Tae as well. But I really wouldn't have minded if the story just continued with the 4 existing characters. Often a character like this is introduced to force the other characters to realize how they feel about each other, but I think in this manga it's pretty clear both Mai and Tae are already aware of their own feelings. The manga could've just been about them getting to know each other better, by continuing what they were already doing: celebrating birthdays, going bowling, etc. If a new character was really necessary I think it would've been a lot more interesting to introduce Mai's mom. But I guess they're saving that for later.

If the author has integrity and doesn't want to try to feed the audience out-of-left-field forced drama, yes. This is what would actually happen. The entire morning messaging part of the chapter would make people assume this would be the case. If the author decides to go the forced-drama route in spite of the foundation they've already laid, then I personally would lose a massive amount of respect for their ability to write a story that makes sense.

I'll be pretty disappointed if she ends up believing that lie at all. Mai calls out to her, tries to walk her home, and invites her out. There's no reason to think about it.

This development was fairly predictable. And I know that Tae is insecure ahoy but i'll be damned if she actually buys into what some random snotty-nosed brat says when she has literally all the evidence to the contrary

Yeah basically this should be a harmless cliffhanger ... The only way she would believe this lie just like that would be the manga getting axed and ending in the next or next 2 chapters.

Also it's worth pointing out that the author doesn't forget to draw the Alarm attached to her bag like "one wrong move, say something I don't like and your life is over with the touch of a button"

If i had to guess I'd say: She doesn't. She's a grade schooler and simply acted on her immediate whims without regard for any possible consequences or repercussions. P in character if i think about it xD

I'm going to be extremely disappointed in the author if she buys this even briefly. Mai literally just invited her to hang out with her THAT MORNING. People who don't like you don't ask you to go out to places, at most they grudging go along if someone else asks.

Tae is a neurotic mess of an adult she will buy this at least at first. She will most likely try and make an excuse on why she can't come and Mai will assure her that Houjou is an annoying twat.

If anything Tae is going to actually believe this and make an excuse on why she can't go bowling and were gonna get another scene in school of Mai being sad and Houjou coming in bragging and all 'You're welcome I got rid of that pest that was bothering you" etc etc.

This series has been wholesome AF and it should have no issues continuing that route as soon as I saw Houjou taking up half a page in that stupid pose I rolled my eyes. I hope this crap doesn't last too long. I enjoy a flustered as hell Tae and a seducing Mai messing with her I don't need forced drama crap in a series like this.
