Just to show the importance of having safe spaces and visibility so young folk can figure their shit out by knowing the existence of other types of relationship that are not hetero and maybe avoiding all the hurt and doubt it comes with trying to figure yourself out without having any clue
The wonders of friendship aside, I got to commend how adorable Xian Jun makes Tongtong look all the time, the art gives her a "cute lost puppy" vibe that combined with her interesting backstory/development makes for a compelling character to read about.
I really wish Xiao Lu was with Tongtong, but anyway got the gay awakening which is good. Go Tongtong! Awaken to the gay! Hoping she goes for the counterattack when she comes back. Also Xiao Lu subtly boasting about having a gyaru gf.
Silly tong tong of course they're friends they're in fact SUPER FRIENDS
I still find this so funny. I hope we do this again next year.
Yeah its honestly kinda wild to me that people have these expectations for Xiao Lu, especially considering the earlier chapter specifically showed us how she has this entire high-effort het disguise just so people dont get suspicious.
Not to mention that, although TongTong has obviously turned out to be a sweet and kind person, shed be confessing to someone who initially "blackmailed" her.
I get it, honestly. It's easy to read this comic from another country, full of characters that anybody can relate to, and think "Why wouldn't these characters do what I would do?" without considering that the cultural situations are different. Kids (and young adults) in the US are pretty lucky that homophobia and sexual discrimination aren't widely accepted among their generation. It's a privilege we enjoy, it's easy to miss that people in other countries have to fear that being an out homosexual could destroy their lives.
Perfect, the seed of yuri has been planted in her brain. Soon she'll grow into the beautiful lesbian we all know her to be. Maybe she'll ask her mum if two girls can date?
Awww, Tongtong is just too cute. And apparently she was actually fully gay all along, I always assumed she was bisexual :D
By the way, should I be concerned that I feel such intense pride of a fictional character figuring out their sexual orientation all by themselves in such a simple way? I think I've grown way too attached to this story
