It just annoyed me that the end didn't resolve anything after teasing all sorts of complex backstories and developments. The "yuribait" part ... meeh, it's not one of those criminal "bait and switch" cases, so it didn't be bother me that much ^^

Did people really hate this one because of the Yuribait, even if it's a pretty good manga ?

Yes.

There are good reasons to criticize the ending on other terms, but most people are just mad that there wasn't a blatantly lesbian finish.

I'm with Pyoro.

It wasn't so much the lack of relationship consummation per se, but just a rather damp ending--and not in a good lesbian-moisture way.

Should be deleted and never spoken of again. That's what you get for trusting an art plagiarizer.

I expected a yuri even if it isn't tagged yuri. So this one gets a 3/10 out of me. Nothing exceptional about this. If you wanna waste time reading about two girls doing absolutely nothing in an "adult setting". However I found the entire serie naive. That's about it. Don't waste time reading this sh*t

I sugger you to do the opposite, never expect yuri if it's not tagged as such.

Way to entirely miss the point of the story.

So many of these comments act like this manga gathered their family members all in a row and shot them execution style

Or, maybe that's Happy End

Just awful. If it was yuri it would've been one of the best. Ever. We know this artist is great with yuri.

Just girls hanging out in an apartment...no love interest (I would've taken het for sure!). So nothing interesting happens. They're just lame the whole time.

And the art is so good and the writing is good. But nothing interesting happens the whole time, I was just on the edge of my seat waiting to see it become a yuri. Halfway through I knew it wouldn't be because I peaked at the comments...but it was a dagger because the series is so good.

Such a disappointment. But I'm sure the guy needed the money, he wasn't going to say no. (I think it's a he)

Generally a hollow read. Amazing potential with no follow through.

So story needs romance to be interesting?

He gets readers involved with the two women, and makes them care what happens, and then utterly breaks the younger one's heart. It's a very bleak end. She's still drinking a lot every day, still coming on to men for her living, still obsessed wth her sempai, still mourning her father, etc. Also, there's no real resolution for the older one, either. Her and her ex are still kicking themselves, there's not the faintest chance they'll get together, she's not ever been interested in any other man, and she abandoned her best chance to find love with another woman. And she still hates her mother and she's still afraid her mental illness - schizophrenia?? - will come back to haunt her.

Even without yuri, it was nice to see a friendship like that where they helped each other so much. That said, they were obviously crushing on each other the whole time, but it doesn't change the fact that their time together changed the course of their lives for the better.

I like it, a story about two women finding happines between eachother without the relationship being a romantic one.
Personally, it was obvious that Ran was into Keiko (the hints where all over the place) yet it was also very clear that Keiko never swing that way. So instead of breaking their friendship with needless drama, they stayed as that, friends. And nothing bad went from it.

I mean, yeah they no longer live together, but how many of us have to live besides a friend to enjoy them?

A tale about finding happiness and moving forward with the help of friends, what's not to love?

Also: streching tips!

Sigh lol. Just because two girls are together on a cover does not mean that the work is about romance... I thought this was a beautiful piece about two friends who share a positive relationship. Don’t trash talk the series because you wanted to get all horny watching em kiss or whatever :-(

In any case the end is completely missed. Too bad there were some good moments but the author did not assume and therefore is criticized harshly.

Lol read it , expected some development because of the NSFW tags in the LAST Volume, gets my heart broken because you really grow an attachment to the characters and are especially sad because of Ran , good story, good characters, good text beautiful art but bad ending ( not because of the lack of yuri) was ready to make it into one of my all time favorite mangas I would alwayw come back to.... but not like that .

The chemistry behind the two characters is pretty great as well, and not in the "we're just best friends" type of way, in my opinion. There's quite some subtext he's willing to give us, just not all the way-- I guess.

Kinda feels like a missed opportunity-- I like the dynamic between the two, and the history behind the two makes this seem like a very nice set up for a relationship.

With a very special day right around the corner, I couldn't help but recall Troid's excellent April 1st release back while Stretch was running. I'm kinda bummed that it's not on the site anymore, and that there's no series nowadays any similar joke works for...

I just read this for the first time and it was fun while it lasted... but rather than being mad at the ending I'm mostly confused... why did they move, actually? I was half expecting that Keiko reconciled with her ex-boyfriend or whatever, that would actually make some sense even if people wouldn't like it... but the author took time to explicitly show that this wasn't the case, so I'm absolutely clueless why would they both move if they both said they wish they stayed together longer.

Did I miss something at the end, am I just stupid?

Nope, you didn't miss anything. The ending just sorta happens. It's never explained, and none of the major plot points (that I can recall) weave into the ending or even get much resolution on their own. At the time, response was significantly negative, due to how it has this feeling of, "Well, I guess it's over??"

The author must be partly "online" now, so I wish he'd go back and finish Prism. Unless it's been taken from him or something.

I finally read it at one go. Other than Kuon in Implicity, Ran is now my favorite Higashiyama Show's character. You literally can see where Ichika is based on.
