Ah now I remember why I stopped reading these comments. Yes Mei has been shit but honestly I'm too depressed, tired, gay, and have 0 fucks left to give. So I will happily read my toxic yuri manga and yall can stfu if you don't like it you don't have to read it.

I know damn well people read it just so they can slander it like at this point yall are just doing this because you have nothing better to do. If you have nothing nice to say don't say it. So go read your bloom into you shit and leave sabu alone.

Thanks for making my day. The world being what it is, I haven’t laughed that hard in quite a while.

Has anyone noticed that the alleged “argument” that “If you don’t like it, don’t read it” applies equally well to those who are unhappy with the Dynasty comments?

If reading Citrus+ makes you “happy” and reading the forum makes you “depressed,” the solution is pretty obvious.

In the alternative, a person could make a tearful “Leave Sabu Aloooooone!” video that would go viral and garner millions of “likes.” That might cheer a person up as well.

Poor analogy, IMO. A manga is what it is, take it or leave it, but we have power over the comments and community here. And comments can have utility: adding cultural context, clarifying obscure points, pointing out things people missed. All of which are made more painful if you have to wade through a sea of self-indulgent negativity.

All of which are made more painful if you have to wade through a sea of self-indulgent negativity.

And defining any negativity as “self-indulgent” is itself quite counter-productive; I’m not sure how much more “self-indulgent” than Eroswhite’s “positive” rant a post can get.

A lot of readers have been following Citrus for nearly a decade, many of whom, like me, thought highly of the series at first, and while many of the vocal critics have been disappointed with the quality of its long-term execution, they’re still interested enough to follow the story and its characters and to find occasional pleasures along the way. Telling those readers, many of whom also do the positive things you list above, to just shut up and go away isn’t going to work.

The “If you don’t like it don’t read it” argument certainly does cut both ways, and critical readers with a long-term investment in a series have just as much right to comment as those who are happy with it (assuming “Yes Mei has been shit” counts as “happy with it”).

Saburouta is totally capable of writing R rated sex scene. When you read her shounen or shoujo stuff, you will also see an older guy manipulate a high school girl into sex. The guy usually sexually humiliates the girl. If you wonder about all the sexual assault and manipulation in Citrus and Citrus Plus, now you know where it comes from. Also you will wonder if Sabu dislike straight girls.
Speaking of Manami and Kana, I will not be surprised if they are another Sayaka. Closet lesbians who use homophobia to hide their own orientation. At no times do we know if they REALLY dated boys, because Yuzu lied about having boyfriends too.

eh the frick are u saying..ugh lies with no evidence kinda had enough, listen i just wanna enjoy my afternoon without readin bs like "yuzu had bfs" are u okay???? stop disturbing my peace beth enough lies today u leave yuzu alone stop it rn ur triggering my lesbianism health yuzu had no boyfriends why tf u think she went in shock when she saw mei argh

Today is a good day for Mei enthusiasts!

About Mei's "Chocolate Fettuccino":
In Japanese, Mei says she wants to try a チョコペペロンチーノ (chocolate peperoncino), likely intending to say "chocolate frappuccino" (since this is what Yuzu gets her on their date).
"Peperoncino" is just the Italian word for hot chili peppers, but in Japanese, it's the abbreviated name of a pasta dish called "spaghetti aglio e olio" (the full Japanese name is "aglio, olio e peperoncino"). Basically, I guess Mei thought it was some kind of chocolate pasta.
However, the word peperoncino doesn't have this strong association with pasta in English, so in order to make Mei's reaction on Page 9 make sense, I swapped it for a mashup of fettuccine and frappuccino.

Also, here's the "log flume ride" Mei is referring to on Page 12 (from the chapter released in August of last year lmao):

I hope you all enjoyed the chapter!

Yuzu having drama about a character we've never met seems a little forced, but it was nice that Mei got to be supportive and interesting for once, so I'll take it. Seriously, though, wasn't this sequel supposed to be pushing other plots? Harumin and Matsuri haven't been updated on in what...over a year? A year and half?

I agree—the fretting about Friend-We-Don’t-Care-About-san is negligible, but Mei unexpectedly simulated a human being in a relationship very effectively, so thumb’s up for that.

But wtf is that thing from the cover? And then they get another one? Is this some specific grotesque Japanese mascot, or a generic grotesque Japanese mascot?

Bleh for as long as it takes between chapters it was nice to see a Yuzu/Mei chapter but this was so who gives a shit about this filler chapter for no reason. Bleh oh well again any Yuzu/Mei is better than none at all.

It's fairly consistent with Yuzu's history IMO. She's very sensitive and she always wears her heart on her sleeve, it's one of her strong points as a character. We know she likes to help the people she cares about too, she's done it quite often before.

We met her twice prior to last chapter. She's the casual homophobe friend

Manami and Kana were literally in the first pages of the series and then appeared again in the latter half of the series and were at Mei and Yuzu's wedding. This side plot is to explain how they went from being homophobic to accepting and supporting Yuzu (and I still think they will end up together).

Anyway, Mei was freaking adorable this chapter and I kind of want one of the strawberries plushies now, they look hilarious,
