Now that they both know their feelings for each other and we know how long each has pined for the other, what obstacle prevents them from getting together? The mother is no longer much of an issue; and honestly, if Emma is having all these feelings while taking these actions, she should end her marriage regardless of the outcomes here. Will Hario fight this or will we just sort of avoid being direct with each other again? Will Takara bow out because Hario loves his wife, even if the wife just admitted she has always loved her?

I know there is a volume after this one, and maybe another after, so I'm interested in if things stall and what would be the reason. My only problem with the series lately has been the feeling it's been stuck in this ruminative state for quite some time and has become a bit repetitive as a result, without compelling reasons. I'm not as excited by the chapters of wonderings and pining anymore. I want them to get together, so we can deal with what comes next; feels like there's a lot of new story there. Still enjoy the series. I just feel this "they can't get together until the end" thing nagging at me and explaining some of the pacing issues I've been having. I hope whatever happens feels natural.

I cannot recall when was the last time a manga I read has an aaaangst level that high after 25 chapters. Solving the triangle issue may not be that easy like other similar yuri with het theme in it.

Seriously, not only had her latest boyfriend already broken up with her (and there was no follow-up to the "threatened" hookup), she also admitted that she had been in love with Ema in middle school!
But I'm glad they got this out of the way now.

I don't know about that. Hario is not a villain, but by his own admission the marriage was based on Ema being someone who needed saving and couldn't stand up for herself. I don't think he would be surprised to learn that Ema only cared for him in the platonic sense this whole time, if he hasn't already figured it out (maybe he's already said as much and I forgot). He also doesn't strike me as a guy who would guilt trip Ema to stay with him after he finds out the truth about her and Takara.

I think the creator dragged her feet a little with the mutual declaration of love because it resolves most of the main conflict. Unless the ladies start an affair behind Hario's back or a new love rival enters the stage, the story should start wrapping up from here.

The way Ema is talking it doesn't sound like she intends to ever divorce. She felt a bit unintentionally manipulative in this chapter. I'm sure that comes from her fear but it's felt a bit like she doesn't intend to make any courageous moves, yet is pouring all these loving words on Takara.

Takara seemed to also realize what's happening during this chapter, even saying so it's "one of those types of relationships" when she recognized what Emma seemed to be confessing by admitting to always knowing she was gay even before marrying and also only meeting behind Hario's back. If forced to choose does Ema actually intend to choose Takara? I feel Takara is wondering these things now, like if she's just someone on the side.

That could also explain why Emma thought Takara would hate her for admitting this. Even Emma also saying something like "I'll keep your confession with me for life," all sounds definitive, as though she's saying, "this is as far as we go but I'll remember it." It's not feeling that fair to Takara. There was just a lot of focus on intentionality this chapter around Ema that attempted to paint her decisions throughout the series in a new light.

It begins to remind me of the wife from "Even Though We're Adults," with how, in the beginning, she inadvertently took advantage of two people, her husband and her eventual lover. In that case she wasn't aware of herself until after marriage. If Ema doesn't intend anything with Takara she should be more careful with saying things that will make Takara feel there is a chance. I hope I'm wrong about the feeling I'm getting from this chapter and her recent behavior but it feels like the obstacle that will drag this out is going to come from Ema.

Ema had her choice of people including her friend who isn't a pushover herself and picked a dude anyway. There wasn't any late awareness on her part.

Ema has a lot of idealism with the memory of Takara, a moment in time really, but if anything that would likely make her even more not risk real change by disrupting what probably feels like a perfect time capsule from before she made choices that she's living with.

100%. Her friend has had an almost accusatory tone towards Ema for a while now. It feels like she is telling Ema to stop fooling around with Takara with no future intentions. This new chapter just adds to that feeling that Ema is aware of what she's doing to Takara while also being aware that she doesn't intend to make the hard but necessary choices to actually be together.

As her friend said, she was aware of her sexuality, had female options to date, and instead chose to marry Hario (and I'm assuming he doesn't know about her sexuality). I don't think anything will keep them apart except Ema. At this point, it's become full-blown cheating, and she's taken the role of the spouse who never fully commits to their cheating partner; Takara is the partner waiting endlessly for the divorce that never seems to materialize. There's obviously more context and nuance around this situation, but it's similar enough at the moment.

Ema is so frustrating exactly because she does everything with the philosophy that she doesn't deserve to be truly happy, and that i think is the real obstacle here. Hario, her friend, and even Takara would need to stage an intervention at this point

Man I knew Ema wasn't going to going to leave Hario the second she knew it was mutual but I didn't expect her to try and warm Takara up to the idea of being the Other Woman before anything else. It's like she's so resigned to the bed she's made it hasn't even occurred to her how selfish and craven it is to do this to Takara.

Takara deserves someone better. I am greatly hoping it'll end with realizing that it's okay to let go of someone important and moving on from Ema.

I think the best present Takara san has would be "the girl I fell in love with told me she loves me too"
