Yea you put this into words really well. i felt this about the abuse scene, the scene reads like any other porny oneshot with grooming as the central premise, but then we see the effects of it on ayane, not just in her interactions with her cousin, but in her romantic life in general (how she describes herself being in relationships, her fear of intimacy etc). it's quite nice to see this explored further

I don't view that as much of an obstacle any longer. We know what both of their feelings are by this point. It feels like most of her issue is not knowing that her single friend also feels the same way as she does. Once she knows it's mutual, I don't think the burden will be that large. She hasn't really thought of her husband that much. He's not factored that strongly into their thinking for a bit. He also doesn't seem like the type to cause a major issue if/when she confesses her real feelings.

yup. actually, the biggest burden by far was ema's mother. she's the reason ema shrunk so far back into herself as to rely on hario in the first place. since ema's finally beginning to feel sure of herself, i think she's in a place where she can not only believe that she's worthy of love from takara, but that she's brave enough to pursue the life she wants with her.
so i really think next chapter we're going to get a resolution of some kind.
if not, i will rip my guts open with a samurai sword
