I don't think the mutilation is extra - it's something that represents physical proof of their bond, that they're exclusive to each other, and probably why Mizuki can accept that Sayori won't tire of her even when they are apart, like what happened to the couple in their novel.

the relationship between these two still seems platonic to me. only difference is that Takamine is opening up a little more, which is probably what Sakura wanted all along, nothing more nothing less.

What? Isn't this mistranslated?? Elisha says something along the lines of "The submission was marked as a collaboration... it had written on it to call this person too if it won... I won [too]...!" In other words, Honoka had included Elisha's name with her manuscript (the one they had the big gay promise about in 289, that she found out about for the first time in 290, which won and they were celebrating in 304) without her knowledge. That's why the publisher calls Elisha second after Honoka, and why their call is a shock to her. She did not submit anything herself, and was focused on assisting Honoka; Honoka secretly crediting her is a massive gesture of love and gratitude, which leads into the tender tone of their conversation after that.

That does make more sense. The way the scene plays out now is a bit strange.

Interesting, I'm not sure if the prince character is a witch or not anymore (I know she was part of the image but still...). The fact that she lacks the witch teeth and was surprised when Sadako dropped from the sky is very strange.

These last 2 chapters are so confusing with the Yumimi redesign/glitch(?) and the large timeskip.
