How do people STILL run into the problem where they don't realize that the other person's feelings matter even if you love them like a bazillion times more than any other human has ever loved anyone? It doesn't matter what's in your heart when it comes to social contracts and consent smh

Yeah baby! That's what this is all about, using the secondary characters to further the primary charcters development wahoo!!!!

And yes for that purpose we do need the secondary characters to get fleshed out and treated with equal importance for the time they get their spotlight. Otherwise the story would just ring hollow.

Anyway interesting to see that Nami has been in at least one previous relationship with a woman. getting that confession from Kaede in high school must have got some gears to turn in her head. that then lead back around 8 years later.

Yeah this was a great chapter. Nami did a good job de-escalating and having empathy while not holding back too much on the criticisms of Nozaki's behavior. Gentle but stern in her sort of sarcastic way. And we got more glimpses into Nami and Kaede's past. Everything I wanted.

Mentioning the goldfish, which is likely something she feels bad about, was also a good tactic. It's a way of expressing vulnerability while maintaining professional boundaries and puts her in the position of also being the one who did something wrong, which softens the blow from her pointing out Nozaki's mistakes.

This is also the first time we see an extended interaction with someone who isn't Kaede. That shows us that Nami is rather blunt and expresses compassion in a way some people would miss, which can be related to the early chapters with Kaede that people questioned.

Hmm...Good job Nami, you seem to have gotten good rep point from the audience by managing to help Nozaki understand herself and situation better instead of Nozaki letting her emotional spiral her out of control irrationally...Though Nami would probably ditch and abandon the MC if their relationship gotten out and it cause her 'trouble' (Public backlash or drama stuff)...but eh I won't blame her too 'much' if that happen...Would still be a jerk move but she seems to be the type of person that helps out others but there to look for number #1 in the end (herself). Nami sadly probably had quite a few ex-gfs considering that is not MC in the flashback (Be surprised if it was just 2-3 at most though when MC and her weren't together 0_0).

Kuritani and Nozaki can finally have a honest conversation about Nozaki's ex-Boyfriend and hopefully managed to resolve their differences...Hopefully they can understand each other and learn to come to a better solution in the end (Maybe Kuritani/nerdgirl at least waiting 1-2 years after to be dating ex-boyfriend possibly as sign of respect to her friend).

Also Nozaki...It is always a bad move to go for the [Game-end] option (Sure you can emotional and mentally hurt him for a few to 10+ years but he will eventually move on with therapy)...I suggest going for minor daily revenge as stress relief (minor pranks like putting mud or worms in his bag, putting tiny thumb tacks in his shoes locker and etc. every time he does something rude or mean to you! Think of it as 'karma'- Just got to be extra sneaky and careful though to avoid being nagged or getting scold by the teachers. It is very easy to unlock a simple lock with all types of methods after all XD).

How do people STILL run into the problem where they don't realize that the other person's feelings matter even if you love them like a bazillion times more than any other human has ever loved anyone? It doesn't matter what's in your heart when it comes to social contracts and consent smh

Oh that is easy...*Points to tw*tter, many other social media sites and etc.* See those people that says crazy outlandish stuff, accuse others naturally of being racists, nazi, P-words and etc. for virtue signal points? Those poor people are control by their emotions sadly and get high off their emotions...or in Nozaki case...getting spiraling out of control and drowning in negative emotions leading to depressing thoughts of possibly doing something horrible :(

The world would be a better place if single human can easily control their emotions (Naturally gifted or experienced in life) instead of letting their emotions control them...but alas sadly we live in a world where it is easy to get situations where another person to stab and potentially kill another person to fight over a pair of shoes (simple 100-200 dollars at most).

Anyway interesting to see that Nami has been in at least one previous relationship with a woman. getting that confession from Kaede in high school must have got some gears to turn in her head. that then lead back around 8 years later.

I think we are all curious and are interested in how MC and Nami managed to get back together.

Hmm, wonder which will be the end-game pairing though that the author will chose (not enough chapters to guess accurately)....MC and Nami or MC and someone else (cough*Nakanishi *Cough).

Don't think there's meant to be any mystery or guessing there, especially not with a kid student. She's been upfront about the series being about her two MCs and their being the couple. She even has prior art of them--doodles and such from long before the series. In her Japanese interview that I've posted a few times here, she also explained this. The story is more focused on how our main couple deals with people around the school and their love issues, like what we've seen. I am super interested in the slow drip of flashbacks though. Otherwise they've been solid couple.

This is also the first time we see an extended interaction with someone who isn't Kaede. That shows us that Nami is rather blunt and expresses compassion in a way some people would miss, which can be related to the early chapters with Kaede that people questioned.

Yes, very much so. Nami feels like she has a dry sense of humor and like you said, can be blunt but is also clearly very thoughtful and quick thinking. She figured out the issue and how to navigate the problem very fast and naturally. She also showed some capacity for introspection.

To me it seems clear neither her or Kaede did anything intentionally wrong in the past, meaning intending to harm one another. Like you said it seems they weren't right for each other romantically back then but something changed in the years afterwards.

Her later having a GF before being back with Kaede is potentially another useful hint. Maybe she wasn't aware of herself back then, or maybe Kaede was the one feeding goldfishes before maturing a bit more. Lots of possibilities. Also noticed how good she was at mentioning her love life without implicating herself in the way Kaede did earlier in the series.

honestly this has been one of the more realistic chapters for a hs experience in this one. like yeah, a biiiiit more dramatic, but even the deescalation was A+ teaching, good work Nami.

Pls pay teachers more, like yall, you'd be shocked how much teachers have to also be crisis team social workers with dumb teenagers about to do something REALLY stupid

The new chapter really made things well. I still think one is being hella irrational and the other is super immature all because they liked the same guy. But I’m glad to see things worked out and seeing them explore more.

I mean, what’s youth for if not making mistakes while exploring what’s best for you? You’ll see some really nasty sides of yourself and other people, but that’s just a fact of life.

Glad to see her making up with friend (?) at the end, even though she had to switch schools or something.

And at the end … there’s another pairing that could potentially ruin a teacher’s career…
Let’s see how will our protagonist lesbian pairing interfere with that! And grow their relationship while they’re at it!

Just to confirm the MC and her current girlfriend is the real thing right? I'm they're just not roommates or friends with benefits right? I really hope they're the canon thing until the end and it's just the author showing the viewers how solid couple they could be while dealing all the drama around the school. Because damn their past is such a ride.T-T

At the end of chapter 13, just to refresh everyone's memories, The girl who walks home with Nozaki is Nakanishi, the girl who wrote the love letter to Kaede-sensei at the beginning.

The Nozaki yurification route is not yet dead

if you go back to the first 5 chapters or so its clearly laid out that the mc and her girlfriend have known each other since high school, that Kaede confessed to Nami and was shot down, after which they were seperated for 8 years in some way until they reunited and presumably started dating, and that they work together at the school now

oh no the last pages of that chapter are so horrible hope they will manage to save that child.
But how can people think about the grooming of a student as something that will ruin the groomer professor career first and not about protecting the obvious victim?

Upon reflection, another part I liked about that update is that Nami has some level of trauma related to their past. One of her closest friends confessed to her and then cut her off, without Nami ever having a clear understanding of why. That likely led to her spending a lot of time doubting herself, as well as making romantic relationships feel like a high stakes activity.

She is generally the more mature and experienced one when it comes to establishing boundaries, navigating romantic relationships, and the like, but it shows these type of events still impacts her regardless of how well she handles it. I imagine a lot of people have misunderstood Nami's communication style in universe too, especially since women are expected to be masters of social subtext, and feeling like a mistake could mean even your closest friend cuts you off would be scary.

I could be reading too much into it, but we'll see more specifics with future updates.

Lesbian main couple helps out their students, and the main couple has a good kiss scene in the newest chapter. Yet we still have a comment like this, sigh.

Yes. I think some have given Kaede way too much of a pass for ghosting (presumably because she is the one who got rejected and we've been in her head more). These chapters make it clear Nami did not have a good time either and is still a bit uncomfortable with having been abandoned like that so suddenly.

I might have forgotten but I don't think there's enough to know if Nami was even aware of Kaede's feelings, so it might have been confusing all around for her. Like you, I'm eager to learn more and see how they were able to salvage their relationship and end up comfortably together as adults. I'm also eager to watch our main couple witness more trainwrecks around them before they go home to cuddle more on that cuddle couch. This next one seems like a particular brand of mess.
