This Shu-chan person seems like an avoidant

I'm not sure I get this chapter. Assuming there is anything to get in the first place.

It looks like it's starting an arc.

The college arc.

Which would mean it's not ending yet.

Main thing I think is that her...friend(?) wasn't happy about her arm being touched like how Aya probably touches her girlfriend's arm when it comes to scary movies

Same here, but I think it’s meant to show each girlfriend’s life during Halloween, one works at a bar, while the other watches a scary movie with her friends at university.

I don't think "wasn't happy" is quite the right descriptor. Rather, I think she's catching feelings for Aya and being attracted to someone who's already in a relationship is making her uncomfortable.

Narita will be on the case to find her a girlfriend.

So we are getting some new characters, which is good. But it would be nice to catch up with some of the old gang, Mao, Chizuru (sp?), and Hime

I'm surprised you're the only person who thought so. I thought this was pretty clear. It's starting ~drama~

Non-factor drama since Aya only wants Mitsuki, but you know

I don't see anything hinting at attraction there. More like "Shu-chan" doesn't want to be there and feels disgusted at the casual touch and regrets giving in to peer pressure, so she's leaving.

I hope I'm not wrong, I really wish this isn't the start of a romantic competition drama arc. That would be completely stupid.

It might, however, be the start of an arc about boundaries and friendships.

Was this chapter confusing? It connects to the first chapter of the time skip and introduces a new character (she actually showed up first in the "drunk Aya" chapter). I think it ties things together and slows things down while promising a new arc for at least this person. The first couple time skip chapters were jumping around to set the stage while having a little fun catching up--we know they live together, where they work, who they now know etc. Now it seems like we're settling into something.

Yes, especially with the look she gave when Aya mentioned wanting to hang out with them instead; that gesture seemed to mean something to Shu-chan. Then with her reaction to the touch, Shu-chan seems to know what her feelings are.

Maybe her feelings make her uncomfortable because Aya is taken or because Shu-chan isn't settled with herself. Either way could explain why she avoids the club. Could also explain why she's the one suggesting Aya goes home. Just spit balling. A lot of possibilities.

I doubt she just doesn't like Aya's sexuality (I don't see the series dealing with homophobia in that way but that would be a really dynamic route to go as well). From a writing standpoint there's so many potential directions, so I'm happy with this new info. Good Halloween chapter. Making use of those 4 pages again.

Hmmm, interesting reaction by "Shu-chan" and by the comments, the reactions assuming her feelings are rather varied. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I'm more bugged by how the arm touch is drawn on page 4. Straight bar with fingers coming out.

As someone who doesnt like to be touched, no matter who it is, it can be a bit uncomfortable. I dont mean in the sense that "ew," more in the ways of "my skin doesnt feel mine anymore." Many reasons as to why, majority of them being trauma. Whether it's PTSD or Autism (cause the two are not the same but can be vulnerable). I'll be surprised if she doesn't hyper-focus on her skin and clenches her fist or something further along or at least rub her arm to assert dominance in her own skin.

I'm assuming friend. Shu-chan was the one with Narita and Aya, hanging out at the bar during the "Four Forms of Aya" chapter, two chapters ago. She's the one who also witnessed Mitsuki picking up drunk Aya; she had a reaction then too. Her, Aya and Narita seem like the new trio and this setup of these last few chapters looks intentional and connected.

Make your bets:
- Shu doesn't like physical contact
- Shu likes Aya and knows it's pointless
- Shu likes Narita and is annoyed Aya is always around him
- Shu is homophobic

Just based on her vibes from 144 and 147 for now, she strikes me as the resident "stand-offish grumpy cat" who doesn't much like people, getting close to them or getting involved in things. the kind who just finds most things bothersome.

So i guess her disliking physical contact fits the best with that

I think she knows since she was the one who was with Mitsuki and Aya two chapters ago. She at least wondered about their situation. Also, it doesn't seem like Aya or Narita is keeping secrets but maybe.

Shu reacted with confusion when she glimpsed them being intimate. The literal next chapter establishes just how shy Aya can get. Shu doesn't know.

Yeah she might not but I imagine she's at least wondering about their closeness after the bar meeting. We'll see either way. I like the discussion she sparks. It's nice for the series to have some new stuff to potentially chew on.

I can go with that, especially as she didn't really want to join in in the first place.

It seems like she's okay when it's easy going and not too loud but gets pushed out of her comfort zone when Aya gets boisterous and too lively, especially as Narita just goes along with it all.

She reminds me a little of Ibu from A Blue Star

Shu seemed okay with Narita's arm around her shoulders. https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/the_guy_she_was_interested_in_wasnt_a_guy_at_all_ch144#2
Well she looks put off but I think at Aya's loudness.
