I have a lot of questions, here. Foremost, is that even Dorothy saying all that to Elsa? Or is it a manifestation of the curse?

I like how Dorothee is there, taking her time to explain to Elsa exactly why if she gives up, she'll end up being broken and hopeless and lose the one she loves... And then open the doors to let Yvonne inside and just leaves.

Miss antagonist, you don't look like much of an antagonist to me. I hope you get your own happy ending too.

Also, seeing the curse in action, I'm absolutely livid at the assholes who forced Olivia's master to bear it herself until it destroyed her. To think those fuckers just went on with their happy, opulent lives bought at her expense... I wouldn't mind if a few heads of houses were to be cut, to be honest.

If I had a nickel every time a yuri isekai protagonist turned out to be a copy, while the original was the ultimate villain, I'd have two nickels.
Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

It's the haircut

This is a suprisingly coherent plot twist for this series, didn't see that coming :P

I might have three nickels. Don't remember all the details to be sure.

I thought so too at first, but since we do see her actually leave, it was probably her way of strengthening Elsa's resolve.

On the other hand, I cannot think of a better moment to break it all to Elsa, right after Evie has confirmed that she will keep loving her, no matter how fake (in other words, fictional) she is.

I'll be honest, I figured Evie would explain some things, but I didn't expect THIS much honesty. Just straight up "I'm an alien" shit lol.

So I just binged this whole series up to ch. 129 (latest as of now) over the last few days and loved it so much I had to make an account just to word vomit my thoughts. I’ve got some critiques/questions, but over all I’m enjoying it. Here are some rambling thoughts so far:

The time travel arc was a bit of a slog to read and definitely stuttered the momentum for me. I salute those who had to read through it real time.

My main issue was the pacing (more than half of it could have been nixed / simplified), and the weird suggestive flirting between 7-year-old girls, especially the catgirl moment. That was bizarre and uncomfortable. I get what it was trying to do (establish the curse, the promise, Garth’s love of yuri), but the context of it all happening when Yvonne essentially has an adult brain and is choosing to act certain ways was WEIIIRDDDD.

Probably the thing I’ve disliked the most about this series. Clean it up and stream line it, and it probably would’ve worked better.

I kinda miss the Villainess System and early conflicts of dodging it. I wish it had remained more central, even as other conflicts popped up, and was actively part of the dramatic secret Yvonne was keeping (like it is there, but its been put on a bus while the time travel and Dorothee identity secrets have taken center stage).

I’m happy to see the gals dating and navigating plot angst / disagreements (it’s always nice to see the characters actually being together, and the story not just ending when they get together), but this series does feel somewhat like it’s become a different story than it was Pre-Defeat Cursed Olivia arc.

Not a bad thing per se, just different.

I am half expecting the Villainess System to rear it’s ugly head again some time in the future. Although maybe not, since Yvonne is about to reveal where she actually comes from. So if the system did return, Elsa would probably know why if Yvonne suddenly old school bullies her out of nowhere.

Would be kinda fun, if in the upcoming chapters, the Villainess System returns suddenly by interrupting their convo because Yvonne is about to talk about it or something. But it might be gone for good.

The reveal “Dorothee” dumped on Elsa in 128 was cool. Really enjoyed it. Not the first time I’ve seen this type of plot twist, but it’s a good one none the less. Classic Homura move.

I have this feeling that even if Dorothee is the “final boss” for now, in a way, she’s gonna get a happy ending, a redemption, or has something else up her sleeve in a long con that’s ultimately gonna help help Elsa and Yvonne. Or maybe that’s just cope.

However, I do feel like we skipped the part on relaying, or even hinting/foreshadowing, how much Elsa secretly knew up to now? Her dialogue with Dorothee around “changing the story” in 128 threw me off. Like girl, how did you learn about that?

In 124, Elsa revealed to Yvonne that she knows about the “other her”, but the dialogue at the time didn’t really convey the full depth of Elsa’s knowledge to me. I understood it as she now knows Dorothee exists because Dorothee just possessed her, and was upset that Yvonne has been hiding Dorothee from her, and figured out at least the one time mental time travel Yvonne did.

Some previous comments have mention that the story has changed/been simplified from the LN, and some of these plot beats made more sense there (would be super down to get a summary of what’s different if anyone wants to share, or link).

And I def get that sense. The reveal of Elsa’s knowledge in 124, the curse teasing Elsa about her despair that Yvonne has orchestrated this all as an act because she knows its a story in 126, and then the dialogue between Dorothee and Elsa in 128 -- all feels like some steps were skipped along the way for us to get here.

It reads like Elsa learned pretty much everything we know now completely off screen at some undetermined point in the past, and we get an info-dump in dialogue to catch us up on that.

But! It could also be I’m mixing things up. There’s a lot going on.

Overall, I’m still interested in the story development. The way some things have been revealed has been clunky and like things have been left out (probably from the LN), but not so much it detracts from my enjoyment. I like Yvonne and Elsa's relationship and wanna see where it goes next, and how things are gonna resolve.

What the actual fuck. Oof, there goes my Monday morning.

Isekai, rebirth, and time travel stories are all essentially stories about regret and a desire for a do-over. I think all of us millenials have that desire to some degree, which is why this genre resonates so much.

Not to mention that the very first thing we see in this comic is Elsa leaping off the roof of her school and Evie catching her despite the Villainess System's demands.

Good catch. And the villainess system takes on a while new potential meaning, especially considering what it was saying to her on that roof and how she was confused about how she'd even gotten there. It doesn't really matter if this is a reincarnation of that girl or not. Either way a lot has been added here.

This history makes Evie's decisions to fight the system this time have more meaning as well. Even the title of the series now makes me pause. I've enjoyed how the series has progressed. To me it's been clearly intentional with it's decisions and they've typically revealed themselves to be good narrative choices. This one especially.
