Nishitani and Kaede little interactions made me wanting them together more than Nami, something is off with her, can't quite put my finger on it.
Hope the story gets a turn around and they actually become a thing.

Kuritani might be smart academically...But it's very obvious she is naive and very inexperience in social interaction and life experience in general (Meeting random guy in a hotel barely after a few week to a month is not a very rational and carefully thought out plan and seems more based in irrational emotional impulses).

Judging from her personality she is not a very social person plus other factors like if she whether she is used to receiving physical contact/affection from other people/parents, some people love hugs and holding hands while other people detest it (This can stem from how they were raised by their parents, relatives and interactions with friends while growing up or due to their own personal bias + Genes.) A person that often receives hugs, head-pats and lot of physical contact will often become more comfortable with physical contact while those that don't need time to get used to it.

Peer pressure also probably plays a major factor which most people underestimate the effects of depending on the person's mental strength (Kuritani affected by her surrounding and seeing many people interest in romance)....Sometimes people start falling in love or feeling romantic feeling as early as puberty or as late as their 20s, thought like I said many types of people with different background, types of family, different experience growing up and etc.
We don't have enough information to fully and accurately determine Kuritani current issues and problems (She could just not found the right person/ Could be Ace or Aromanticism- Not able to feel romantic feeling or very little romantic feeling/ Could be gay and doesn't know it/// Could just take a very long time for her to and experience feeling of romance for another person (That demi-thingy?) and etc.)

Like I said, many different types of people...some sadly which include psychopath/sociopaths whom brain work so much different than the majority of 'normal humans'...psychopath/sociopaths are totally fine and decent people as long they know to follow the 'proper rules' of society, in fact some of them even thrive and become very successful lol. I think the people that try to sympathize with the demons in [Frieren] and try to use 'normal' moral emotional logic to defend the demons are idiots...might be possible for a few demon to develop emotions and empathy(1-2%) though...also yeah totally off-topic but just brought it up as an extreme example how different and radical a human can become or be born as.

Hopefully this new girl won't start any 'horrible bad rumors' for fun and instead be a 'positive influence' on Kuritani...(SHE IS FROM CHAPTER 2 LOL XD)

MC has enough issues dealing with her current GF and plus all the other drama in her life. MC and Nami pairing would be the most proper and so-called ethical ship....But MC and Nakanishi might be a strong contender if Nami ends up messing up. Like other point out...I want Nami to hopefully be a good person and partner for MC...But possible bad 'signs' which could just be false flags though?
I am fine with either option I guess (Though I still think Nami deserve a slap at least for her response many years ago.)

this is a completely different direction than I expected with Nozaki but also, I'm seated and waiting. It's fun to see multiple instances of Nozaki getting close and Kuritani bracing for impact and every time she's doing something different than Kuritani assumed.

what is her angle indeed. Except of course, she's seemingly been turned down by a guy because he was crushing on Kuritani instead. So what is her angle? Who knows! She's clearly upset but her plans for approaching Kuritani could still go every which way.

It kind of feels like it's going all over the place, but I don't dislike it so far. The exploration of different kinds of love for different kinds of people is a concept I really like, and the pressure of love all around you that Kuritani experiences is an all too real emotion.

Just wondering though, is it actually a (common) thing in Japan (or other places?) where students will fall in love with a teacher and actually go as far as confessing or trying to "compete" with others? Teacher crushes definitely seem like a common and fairly normal thing for teenagers (both in real life and fiction), but this seems a bit too extreme.

Yeah...I am glad that Nozaki called Kuritan both smart and dumb...I mean not the brightest idea to randomly hook up with a middle age old person just because your emotional confusion about wondering if you can feel love or not (Possibly asexu@l/Ace but could just be she just not used to feeling of attraction yet, depends on her circumstance and need more time to accurate judge and tell.).

I am glad no blackmail (...Yet, and hopefully never!) from Nozaki, yeah Nozaki probably has very very conflicting feelings regarding Kuritan...On one hand negative feeling due to guy she was aiming for liking the glasses girl nerd...but on the other hand she now got the first hand story and find Kuritan amusing/funny (Nozaki seems to be the wild free spirit type.).

Yeah....just follow Nozaki's plan and just have fun with friend and enjoy school life (Still bit warily of Nozaki since she can still launch possibly hostile feeling if she changes her mind)...You can worry about love, romance and wondering if your Asexual, Aromatic, aromantic, or some other kind of thingy you might have when your in your last year of high school or when starting in university.

Hmm...I honestly think it not common...but I think it not that rare either (For both Japan, America and other places.), kind of like it probably common for maybe 5-10% of children/kids in age 6 to 11 to have minor crushes on teachers they find pleasant and attractive...Crush on high school teacher and university professor on the other hand is much much more troublesome...(probably estimated possibly only 2-4% out of the school population probably would have the guts to confess and pursuit said romantic feelings 'seriously').

Most of the times it probably does not work out but I guess there are very very very very (+X4 more very) rare cases it does work out 'positive'....though the world is a fked up place....
Teacher (Both male and female...Also the lunch lady grooming random male student too I guess..) grooming their students and having sexu@l relationship with them (Even worse if they are in middle school or lower...), it not totally unheard since you can read and heard about it in online article in America or other places/countries. The fked up thing is when the female teacher or male teacher has a fiance/ fiancee and tries grooming a student anyways...I heard some events/cases happening like a few years ago...she got fired I think? You can probably find such cases perhaps every 3-4 year in America or other countries (Lot of school and there are lot of teachers and students)?

You also have to remember...If you were a teacher...do you honestly want to die of social suicide and possible stigma by the public, most teachers probably will gently reject the student and 'thank' them for their feelings. The only valid option allowed probably would be if they are in university and at least a few years passed since the confession and said student actually still has 'feelings', even then you will probably get some picky judgmental people from the public XD

I read all chapters in one sitting…and this somehow has a very “everyday” feel to it, but at the same time it could be oh so wild!

The students and the teachers are all exploring love, and we already got conflicts (which are the lifeblood of storytelling) all over the place! From at least four different people!

No brainer subscribed! Very eager to see our protagonist go places and feel love from different sources!

After all…Teenagers tell the best exploration stories on their life and heart, that’s for sure!

Unless Nozaki cheated on him or something then his attitude is totally fking sh*t and uncalled for...Nozaki (Natsumi- first name) is even trying to study and be bit more brainy to self-consciously appeal more to him...(Wonder if they are even childhood friends as well...?)

Honestly I kind of want Nozaki to fking NTR him and show him pictures of her stealing Kuritan away from him (Technically not NTR but more like pseudo NTR/ BSS to be specific I guess...). Hope she does not do anything malicious and end up genuinely becoming friends with nerd girl...bonus point if causing NTR damage to her former ex [This is assuming she didn't do anything horrible like cheat on him to make him break up with her which seems unlikely but there is always that 1% chance...].

From the comments, I thought something extreme happened, but it's just that Nozaki approached Kuritani due to jealousy and doesn't actually like her. She hasn't acted as if she likes Kuritani and has been low key negging her constantly in between the exaggerated compliments and body language. Disliking Kuritani means Nozaki's feelings are in line with her actions.

In another series, this would be a good set up for them to develop a genuine friendship or romantic relationship as they learn more about each other. There's so many plot threads going on this one that I'm not sure they'll follow that setup or not, but I'm enjoying their dynamic. I'd like to see more of them together in future chapters.

I'm going to be real I've been hoping that this is a breakup and find new love manga since chapter one. I'm still interested if that's the tragectory of the story, but damn Nozaki has always sucked.
