People are still growing and learning at all ages, and she's still pretty young at least (18-20...? Unless I'm remembering wrong). If she was more so around late 20s and above I'd be a little more worried I think lol

Yeah the setup from the very start is that she didn't have any success with romance in high school, so afterwards she enters college and dyes her hair to help reinvent herself, while swearing that college will be where she's able to find love. So she's very inexperienced with love and aiming to experience it for the first time with college. Her lack of experience is very reasonable and well explained, not everyone finds love while in high school.

I'm positive they won't be able to keep it in their pants for four whole years. There's just no way.

Y'all, I'm aware of the premise, I didn't just pop into the 40th chapter randomly. I know she's inexperienced, I still don't think inexperience equates to just assuming love from every physical encounter. Plus, she doesn't need to have experienced it herself, by college you would be aware of other people's relationships, people dating and breaking up, and also hookup culture. Like, I can fully believe that she is personally inexperienced, I have a friend that didn't date until after college. But that's different than being naive to the point of assuming love in every physical encounter.

I suppose it's simply one of those situations where it doesn't work for you, but it works for me and the other person that responded. Her lack of experience and over excitement with finding love is cute to me, and not unbelievable. We were mentioning the premise because that's why it works for us, though there's nothing wrong with having different views and opinions of her characterization here. So all I can say is I wish you well, and I'm at least going to keep enjoying the series and her adorable naivety.

Also, for what it's worth, the first page of the chapter is a splash page of Sensei naked under the sheets looking at the viewer is the sort of image you'd see for a typical "Morning After" scene.

So signs are pointing to "Yes, Mei and Sensei did actually sleep together."

As for the endgame, we'll have to wait and see, but looking at Tamamusi-sensei's Twitter page, there's at least one more official artwork there of Mei and Sensei naked together and another artwork of them both together in wedding dresses. Granted, that could just be fan service and isn't a smoking gun, but IMO I'd say the most likely MeiBowl winners from the harem are either Sensei or Riri, followed by Mei's old senpai from high school.

My gut is leaning towards Mei ending up with Sensei though, with with the other four harem girls all being paired together (Riri/Karin, Kaoru/Minato) and Mei finally getting a love confession from her senpai, but having to reject her after moving on and falling for Sensei.

I just feel like there'd be more mention of it rather than just "kissing and hugging". I would find it hard to believe if they really didn't go all the way considering the situation but it wouldn't be entierly far-fetched considering Mei's until-then extreme innocence.

Also wasn't she saying that she wanted to hold her and be held? If that is the standard Japanese euphemism for sex, then it would seem to me that they hadn't slept together yet. But I was also confused about it...
