I can't help but think that this story went from vaguely uncomfortable, to unbelievably silly, to hilariously cute. It's a weird ride but I like it a lot.

this story went to a useless lesbian who's too afraid to say what she really feels and prefers to use the guise of being a mean rival to get what she wants rather than actually just ask for it, to... well exactly the same as before, except now we know.

You may laugh at Wakaba taking the finger bite so seriously, but is that fair? Each girl in that other transactional yuri series laughs it off when her not-girlfriend leaves a mark on her body, but proceeds to obsess over the mark anyway and gets sad when it disappears. Maybe Wakaba is actually ahead of the curve...

Bite on her ring finger. Check. Making out. Check. Going on dates. Check. Aquarium!? Check. Whatever they were doing to start this chapter? Check. That's barely touching the list. They've been closer and more intimate than most "couples" in other series. At least we've gotten passed people thinking they're both not into it. They're cute in how dysfunctionally in love they are.

There’s a simple explanation for that, Komaki is intensely in love with Wakaba. She puts up a disaffected front to hide these feelings, but every so often, her armor breaks and she does something rash or tries to test the waters to see if Wakaba could love her back. That latter point is why she called Wakaba cute.

Also, bear in mind the Komaki doesn’t just want Wakaba to hate her. She wants to have a permanent place in Wakaba’s heart. She’s convinced Wakaba will never love her the most, so she’s settled on making her hate her the most. That’s why she keeps taking her firsts, and why she can’t simply just stop talking to her. That’d make it too easy for Wakaba to forget about her.
