To be fair her grandfather did get her a whole ass car, and say he missed her. Yes Ji Youyan is a factor, but that's a pretty serious familial obligation as well. Now it also depends if she has a good relationship with him or not, but delaying her flight for literally one day because her family wanted to celebrate her birthday with her really isn't that evil or crazy.

I think the chapter makes it pretty clear the only reason she's staying the extra day is because her sister told her it would hurt Ji Youyan the same way she'd been hurt in the past, and it feels so dumb because it's clearly making Jing Xiu miserable as well! She even acknowledges to herself that her sister's reasoning is totally wrong!

The issue is that she deliberately did not tell Youyan she'd be late a day. That's what people are reacting to. She made the order to create the lie, which was not necessary unless she meant to be vindictive. I agree that her situation is complex, as well as her emotions. I don't think it's terrible but it's not just simply staying with her family. Youyan will spend that whole day thinking she's on the way, and that's by Jing Xiu's design now.

From her point of view the same woman who previously hurt and betrayed her just had a change of her from one day to the next and decided to act as if what had happened before wasn't.

And while Youyan has shown she's trying to be better, she also gives no promise or guarantees, shows no understanding of what Jing Xiu went through. She only knows she has fucked up, which she did. But this is not a bad test - because it expects of Youyan humility, understanding. To accept and get over a pointless bit of meanness just like Jing Xiu must if their relationship is to move forward.

If Youyan resents her for that, then she doesn't understand what she did wrong. On the other hand, if she truly feels sorry, she will accept it and commit herself.

To not give her love easily because it would be taken for granted, which is exactly what the old Youyan, before her time travel, would have done and actually did.

An "eye for an eye" is not conducive to reconciliation. By this point, Youyan has discussed and explained her culpability and been consistent in her efforts to be better. You don't punish her now on a whim to satiate some desire for evenness. What a habit to reenter a relationship with.

Her type of vindictive behavior ruins relationship reconciliations all the time. I'm sure it'll work out for them though. Youyan home alone, with a wasted celebration (potentially crying and feeling rejected), is certainly a choice for making things better with someone they claim to love.

Proving that they're willing to handle punishment or tests is also something I'd not be comfortable saying about a loved one. "You passed the test, you cried and were miserable but understood. Good girl." Might as well pat her on the head too from a raised chair.

• At least for Jing Xiu, this isn't in her nature. It's her sister's nature and Jing Xiu just succumbed to it in a weak moment. So I don't hold it against her much. She has complex feelings but she's a good person. She does not seem comfortable doing this and understands how icky it all feels (and should feel). I think that's what saves them. Her sister's personality though is up in the air based on how she is willing to treat people.

she did it all by the fact to hurt her, like did we read the same story? her family was not expecting her to go so fast home, also you ignore her telling her manager to make sure she doesn’t know, what more proof do you need to see she did a petty thing as a revenge?
