From the sections we've seen so far the lessons Tong Tong is learning do seem legit, but at the same time I have a feeling that this is still gonna come back to communication and directly talking about what both of them want out of their relationship.

I think Luxi is gonna figure out that Tongtong is not going off pure intuition very soon. I just hope that Tongtong's book will introduce the step "Ask your sub what they think and really listen to them" before it advises something that pushes Luxi's boundaries too far and causes a big misunderstanding between the two.

Luxi's been into BDSM for literally the entire comic, what on earth are y'all saying lol. It's the whole reason she goes along with Tongtong's "blackmail," because she enjoyed getting bossed around by a hot girl.

I'm so glad they're bringing those bdsm elements back into the series. When I did my reread of s1 after s2 started I was a bit disappointed when I noticed that that aspect of Luxi's character had seemingly been entirely forgotten by the end. It felt like character woobification, and I'm glad s2 is bringing that aspect back to the forefront :)

well yes but i hope you'd agree there's a gap between "the characters in this manga are really three dimensional and one of Luxi's traits is being into bdsm, which is why she hooks into this yuri plot that is otherwise not bdsm related" to "our characters are going to learn together and explore what it means to be in a bdsm relationship while we depict them having kinky gay sex right on the page"

Implying a character is kinky, maybe even showing a little bit of it in an empathetic way if you're really invested in your characters, is pretty common. yuri that's an exploration of bdsm is not. It's internally consistent and good writing but the former is not nearly enough to predict the later, which is why I (and I imagine many others in this thread) are expressing pleased surprise.

I'm actually weirdly obsessed with this. They're both adorable but they're doing their best for each other and thinking about each other and it's so cute.

TongTong is very innocent and well adored by a loving mother but she's willing to take the time to learn and do what her partner likes (and probably enjoy it along the way), she's also putting in the effort to have focus away from her gf to be a bit more independent.

On the other side of that, I wish it kinda showed LuXi doing more for TongTong but she's more of a future facing person (which makes sense). She made plans to stay with her gf longer in the future by "breaking up" for a year and stressed out on studying so she could spend more time with her. She doesn't say any of that stuff since she's more internal, but I'm glad there's not a lot of drama about it (TongTong misunderstanding and the problem getting dragged for too long). Both characters are consistent and it makes sense that LuXi wouldn't want to talk about Bai Yan(g?) and about her kinks until cornered.

Which meeeeeans.. talks about boundaries and stuff will have to be brought up by TongTong because LuXi might be still embarrassed about it or don't want to be a bother (which makes sense considering her mother).

No idea where the Bai Yan thing will go though lol
