I am so excited to see where this is going, because on one hand it's clearly not a slice-of-life type story, but on the other I can't see much conflict happening between the three witches we got to see. And so far there doesn't seem to be a reason for the whole gang, including yet unrevealed characters from the ch. 1 cover, to be up against the mc.
My guess (and hope?) is that it might turn out to be similar to "Alcohol and ogre girls," with this sequence serving as an introduction to the broader narrative of witches and whatever else supernatural trying to coexist in modern society and all the exploration of related topics. 
Also women kissing and maybe even holding hands???

On page 7 Sadako can't hear the conversation, but starting on page 11 her reactions make it seem like she can hear Hanako's monologue. I wonder if that's the case, and she's making connections between their parallel forms of loneliness, or if it's an intentional misdirection on the author's part and she's just reacting to body language and the sudden violence.

It's my bad. I read too fast and missed a word when I translated. There's a よく in the sentence, meaning she can't hear the conversation very well. She can hear it fine when Hanako starts to scream I guess.

It's fixed now.

Maybe this Hanako isn't 100% human either and belongs to a race that is the witches' natural enemy.

I just love how the black girl remains unbothered throughout most of this

I do hope if it is like alcohol and ogre girls that theres more physicality lol. It's kinda crazy that they had a drunk kiss in chapter 2 of alcohol and ogre girls and then dropped that stuff entirely in favor of subtexty subploty stuff about them feeling jealous of each other

Just found this, yay for new Sal Jiang, and she's knocking it out of the park as usual. So far the tone feels like a dark comedy, so somewhere in the middle between Black and White, and Ayako x Hiroko. Love to open a story on the cute girl protagonist scaring two people to death and not caring at all about that lol

I think she is human, but a special kind of human. She is the descendent of witch hunters. Humans that over thousands of years refined a natural ability to hunt witches. Strength to compete with them. The ability to see them. Her rage at being called a witch is her witch-hunter instincts being triggered.

They are the ones that originally pushed the witches into hiding, hunting them to near extinction. However, the witches have successfully been in hiding so long that most have even forgot witch hunters were a thing. Witch hunters themselves forgot they were a thing.

Now it's a witchXwitchhunter love story!

I'm excited to see where this one goes. It's shaping up to be one of the greats.

I used to have this 'joke' in my mind where we know Sadako would appear and come out from the TV, then if it's changed to a phone, she wouldn't be able to come out because the screen is too small for her to appear, and so she stucked.

This story however, tells me that my perception to Sadako is entirely wrong.
She can and will appear to any sizes of screen whenever she wants to.

I'm sorry Sadako, I underestimated your power of appearing from any screens.

There are a few stories that take a slightly different approach and have the size of the screen effect Sadoko's size, which she may not realize before coming through. If I recall correctly, there's a webtoon where she came through a smartphone and ended up roughly the size of a gunpla. Cute hijinks ensue.
