Also based on the title spread it feels like Sal Jiang keeps putting a single black character in their series, and each time the character becomes a little more plot relevant lmao

Only yuri project I can think of is Free Soul , and that is a story within a story, the Black character in it is a figment of the main character's imagination, they don't interact with each other.
But I would definitely love to read more yuri works with Black characters in them.

in ayaka and hiroko there was a black woman who briefly showed up in a backstory section about hiroko, so she was basically a one off character but was relatively prominent within that backstory. So maybe this time we'll get a proper reoccurring character.

Yeah, Hiroko was flirting with her at the bar and got into a fight with her "friend" because both of them wanted the same woman. Turned out she already had a girlfriend (who I am pretty sure was also a one-off character from earlier) and left them both lol

I get the feeling that, while the series might start light with introductions and character development, it could take a deeper turn. That said, I don’t see it becoming extremely dark, more like exploring the surface of characters’ emotions and past experiences. There may also be some conflicts with new characters, judging by the cover. Overall, I think Sal is aiming for a wholesome, comedic series with an intriguing concept that appeals to younger audiences, especially with the influencer and social media themes, and the focus on fashion. But I'm not really sure I just wanna see how this goes before I make any big assumptions. :)
