Yeah I think it would have been less painful if I'd prepared for it but the tags aren't quite accurate yet so I got jumpscared

Stories like these definitely have their place as this is an all too common experience for many people but yeah it sucks ass to read.

My first thought was that it was quite odd, but after reading it again, I realized how realistic the situation was (in a sense). At some point, both characters did have feelings for each other, but one realized it too late. I find this story both very good and bittersweet. I liked it, but I can't give it too much credit. Talking to your long-distance boyfriend only six times in two years doesn't mean you have a strong enough connection to marry. Just knowing someone for a long time doesn't automatically mean you're close.

Yeah I can't say I like the feelings this story leaves me with not just because of how the senpai has her hopes dashed but also because it really feels like Endou-san realized what kind of life she's now going to miss out on all but far too late.

When the senpai talks about how love is looking in the same direction you can just see Endou realize that yes there's one person here with whom she's been doing that and it's not her to-be-husband.

It's heartbreaking really.

If you're expecting straight people to act smart you're gonna be let down all the time lol.
Also that futility is intentional, it's not a dumb story, it's the main character witnessing something that's both tragic and a farce and feeling like she can only make the situation feel worse if she says anything, so she copes through it and then moves on. Frequently the real problems we face in this world are in fact related to stupid choices that are out of our control.

That's honestly the least surprising thing about this whole situation. It seems that they barely spoke to each other; she probably never thought to mention him, because she didn't even think of him.

The fact that they got married because they were on the brink of breaking up is the stupidest decision I've ever read and was actually annoying to read. Such a pointless story. It would make more sense if we saw it the kohai regretting her life choices a few years down the line.
